Alpha Purity[1]

by Sera Khandro

ཀ་དག་རིག་པ་བརྗོད་མེད། །
ཁ་དོག་མཚན་མ་ལས་འདས། །
ག་ལེར་རིགས་པས་དཔྱོད་དང༌། །
ང་བདག་རྩ་བ་ཆོད་འགྲོ།
ཧེ་ཧེ་ཧེ།

Alpha-pure, inexpressible awareness,
Beyond colour and characteristics—
Carefully analyze with intelligence.
Demolish the "I" or self at its source.[2]

Heh! Heh! Heh!

By the one named Sukha.

| Translated by Adam Pearcey, 2022.

  1. The original is untitled; this title has been added by the translator.  ↩

  2. These first four lines are in the form of an acrostic poem, the opening syllables of each line being the first four syllables of the Tibetan alphabet: ཀ་ (ka), ཁ་ (kha), ག་ (ga) and ང་ (nga). The translation aims to reproduce this effect, however unsatisfactorily, in abecedarian form.  ↩
