Spontaneous Success
Praise and Invocation of the Great Lion, Norbu Dradül, and Ritual to Restore Harmony with the Father-Gods1

ཀྱེ། རང་སྣང་གནས་ཡུལ་དག་པའི་ཞིང༌། །
kyé, rangnang neyul dakpé zhing
Kyé. In the self-appearing pure buddha field,
ནམ་མཁའ་མཐིང་གི་གུར་ཁྱིམ་ན། །
namkha ting gi gurkhyim na
In the tent of the deep blue sky,
མཁའ་སྤྱོད་མཐོང་བ་ཀུན་སྨོན་གླིང༌། །
khachö tongwa kün mön ling
In the celestial Awe-Inspiring Land of Ling,
རྨ་གཡང་འཇའ་སྤྲིན་འཐིབ་པའི་ཀློང༌། །
mayang ja trin tibpé long
In the expanse of the thick, rainbow-light clouds of Ma’s abundance,
བདེ་མཆོག་ནོར་བུའི་ཕོ་བྲང་ནས། །
demchok norbü podrang né
In the Jewel Palace of supreme bliss,
ཆེ་རྒུའི་གཙུག་ན་མངོན་མཐོ་བ། །
chegü tsuk na ngön towa
The highest being who presides over all great beings,
སྣང་སྲིད་དྲེགས་པའི་སྲོག་གི་བདག །
nangsi drekpé sok gi dak
The owner of the life-force of the haughty spirits of phenomenal existence,
དགྲ་བླ་ཝེར་མའི་སྙིང་གི་བཅུད། །
drala wermé nying gi chü
The master of the vital essence of the dralas’ and wermas’ hearts,
ཐོགས་མེད་སྣ་ཚོགས་ནོར་བུའི་ཚུལ། །
tokmé natsok norbü tsul
Who manifest as various, unstoppable jewels,
ཕྱོགས་ལས་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ་བའི་ལྷ། །
chok lé nampar gyalwé lha
The deity victorious over all adversities,
དོན་གྲུབ་ཝེར་མ་དཀར་པོ་ལ། །
döndrub werma karpo la
All-accomplishing White Werma,
བོད་ཡུལ་སེང་ཆེན་ནོར་བུ་ཞེས། །
böyul sengchen norbu zhé
Known in Tibet as “Sengchen Norbu”,
ཙི་ནས་བཀྭན་ལོ་ཡེན་དུ་འབོད། །
tsi né ken lo yen du bö
In China as “Guan Loyen”,
ཞང་ཞུང་དགྲ་བླ་ཆེན་པོ་ལ། །
zhangzhung drala chenpo la
In Zhang Zhung as “Drala Chenpo”,
འཁོར་ནི་ལྷ་དམག་བྱེ་བ་འབུམ། །
khor ni lha mak jewa bum
Is surrounded by hundreds of billions of war gods—
མ་ལུས་འཁོར་དང་བཅས་པ་རྣམས། །
malü khor dang chepa nam
All of you, come with your retinues,
ཀི་བསོ་ཆ་དང་ཧེ་ཡིས་འབོད། །
ki so cha dang hé yi bö
Ki so cha hé—we call you!
དགྲ་བླ་དྲ་མ་ཆེ་དགུ་དང༌། །
drala drama chegu dang
The nine eminent drala brothers,
མགོན་མཛད་དགྲ་བླ་བཅུ་གསུམ་དང༌། །
gön dzé drala chusum dang
The thirteen drala protectors,
མཐུ་ཆེན་དགྲ་བླ་སྤུན་གསུམ་དང། །
tuchen drala pün sum dang
The three drala brothers endowed with great power,
མགྲོན་ཡག་དར་མ་བཅུ་གསུམ་སོགས། །
drön yak dar ma chusum sok
The thirteen Changseng expert in covering long distances, and so on—
ཡེ་ཤེས་ལས་དང་འཇིག་རྟེན་གྱི། །
yeshe lé dang jikten gyi
All the dralas and wermas who appear
ཚུལ་འཛིན་དགྲ་བླ་ཝེར་མ་ཀུན། །
tsul dzin drala werma kün
In wisdom, activity and worldly ways;
ལ་ལ་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་རྩལ་ལས་འཕྲོ། །
la la khyö kyi tsal letro
Some emanate as your display,
ལ་ལ་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་སྐུ་ལ་འདུ། །
la la khyö kyi ku la du
Some are integrated in your body,
ཐམས་ཅད་ཁྱོད་ལ་བརྟེན་ལགས་ན། །
tamché khyö la ten lak na
But all are based on you.
ཁྱོད་ནི་དགྲ་བླའི་དཔའ་རྫོང་སྟེ། །
khyö ni dralé pa dzong té
You who are the mighty fortress of the dralas,
དྲན་པས་མཐུ་སྟོབས་ནུས་པ་སྤེལ། །
drenpé tutob nüpa pel
Thinking of you increases strength, power and ability!
བདག་ཅག་རེ་ལྟོས་མི་འགྱུར་བའི། །
dakchak ré tö migyurwé
May our hopes be fulfilled through the power
དད་དང་དམ་ཚིག་དབང་གིས་ནི། །
dé dang damtsik wang gi ni
Of our unswerving faith and samayas
མཐུ་དཔུང་སྙན་པའི་རྒྱལ་མཚན་དང༌། །
tu pung nyenpé gyaltsen dang
That make the inspiring victory banner of our forces heard far and wide!
གཏན་གྱི་གྲོགས་དང་ཡུན་གྱི་མགོན། །
ten gyi drok dang yün gyi gön
Reliable friends, long-serving protectors,
ཕོ་ལྷ་འཕྲག་ལྷ་དགྲ་བླ་རུ། །
polha trak lha drala ru
Father-gods, shoulder-gods, dralas,
བསྟེན་ནོ་མཆོད་དོ་མཐུ་མ་ཆུང། །
ten no chö do tu ma chung
I rely on you! I make offerings to you! Show your power!
མངའ་གསོལ་གཟེང་བསྟོད་ཐུགས་དམ་བསྐང། །
ngasol zeng tö tukdam kang
I exalt you! I honour and praise you! May your wishes be fulfilled!
བདུད་རྩི་ཆང་གི་དཔའ་སྐྱེམས་འབུལ། །
dütsi chang gi pa kyem bul
I offer you the fermented nectar, the drink of warriors!
བ་དན་སྣ་ཚོགས་དཔའ་དར་འབུལ། །
baden natsok pa dar bul
I offer you all manner of banners and scarfs, tribute to your valour!
བསྟོད་དབྱངས་རོལ་མོའི་དཔའ་རྔམ་འབུལ། །
tö yang rolmö pa ngam bul
I sing your praises to the tune of awe-inspiring music!
བསང་དང་མཆོད་སྤྲིན་དཔའ་ནོར་འབུལ། །
sang dang chötrin pa nor bul
I offer you clouds of sang and offerings of warriors’ wealth!
སངས་རྒྱས་ཆོས་ཀྱི་དགྲ་བླ་དང། །
sangye chö kyi drala dang
Dralas of the Buddhadharma,2
འཇིག་རྟེན་སྲིད་པའི་དགྲ་བླ་རྣམས། །
jikten sipé drala nam
And dralas of worldly existence,
དེ་རིང་རྟེན་ལ་བརྟན་པར་བཞུགས། །
dering ten la tenpar zhuk
Today, come to stay in these supports and remain steadfast!
ཕོ་ལྷ་ཡོ་བ་དེ་རིང་འཆོས། །
polha yowa dering chö
Today I restore harmony with the father-gods!
དམ་ཚིག་ཉམས་ཆགས་དེ་རིང་བཤགས། །
damtsik nyamchak dering shak
Today I confess breakages of samaya!
ལྷ་ལ་ངོ་སོ་དེ་རིང་བསྟོད། །
lha la ngo so dering tö
Today I chant praises of the gods!
བདུད་ལས་རྒྱལ་ཁ་དེ་རིང་ལོངས། །
dü lé gyalkha dering long
Today, give us victory over the maras!
ཕོ་ལྷ་མ་ཡོ་མ་འཁྱོམས་ཤིག །
polha ma yo ma khyom shik
Father-gods, come straight here!
དགྲ་བླ་མ་འཁྲུགས་མ་འཁོན་ཞིག །
drala ma truk ma khön zhik
Dralas, create no trouble, stir up no resentment!
རྣལ་འབྱོར་བདག་ཅག་འཁོར་བཅས་ལ། །
naljor dakchak khor ché la
Protect and guard us yogins and the people around us
བྱང་ཆུབ་བར་དུ་སྲུང་སྐྱོབ་མཛོད། །
changchub bardu sung kyob dzö
Until enlightenment!
རང་བྱུང་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཆེན་པོ་ནི། །
rangjung yeshe chenpo ni
Accomplish spontaneously what we envision,
དབྱེར་མེད་བསམ་དོན་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་མཛོད། །
yermé samdön lhundrup dzö
Indivisible, in great self-arisen primordial wisdom!
ཀྱེ། ནམ་མཁའི་ཁམས་སུ་རྒྱུ་ཙ་ན། །
kyé namkhé kham su gyu tsana
Kyé. When you soar in the realm of the firmament
གཡུ་འབྲུག་སྔོན་མོ་རྟ་རུ་ཞོན། །
yu druk ngönmo ta ru zhön
Mounted on the turquoise dragon
གཟའ་དང་རྒྱུ་སྐར་རོལ་དུ་ཁྲིད། །
za dang gyukar rol du tri
And taking the planets and the stars with you,
ལྷོ་སྤྲིན་སྟུག་པོའི་གཡང་གཞི་འཆང། །
lho trin tukpö yangzhi chang
You seize the thick southern cloud, the source of wealth,3
ཉི་མ་ཟླ་བའི་མིག་གིས་བལྟ། །
nyima dawé mik gi ta
Right from under the gaze of the sun and the moon.
ཁ་རླངས་ན་བུན་སྤྲིན་དུ་འཁྲིགས། །
khalang nabün trin du trik
Your breath gathers in billowing mists and clouds,
ང་རོ་འབྲུག་གི་གད་རྒྱངས་ཅན། །
ngaro druk gi gegyang chen
And you explode with the laughter of the dragon’s roar.
གཡས་ན་བ་དན་དཀར་པོ་དང། །
yé nawa den karpo dang
In your right hand you hold a white banner
གཡོན་ན་གློག་གི་ཞགས་པ་འཛིན། །
yön na lok gi zhakpa dzin
And in the left a noose of lightning.
སྲིད་གསུམ་ཁྱབ་པའི་མཐུ་བོ་ཆེ། །
si sum khyabpé tuwo ché
Powerful master of the three realms of existence,
དྲེགས་པ་སྡེ་བརྒྱད་བྲན་དུ་བཀོལ། །
drekpa dé gyé dren du kol
Who enslaved into your service the eight classes of haughty spirits—
བསང་དང་བདུད་རྩིའི་སྐྱེམས་ལ་དགའ། །
sang dang dütsi kyem la ga
Enjoy this sang offering, and the drink offering of nectar!
ཀི་ལ་འདུ་ཞིང་བསོ་ལ་དགྱེས། །
ki la du zhing so la gyé
Gather at our call of Ki! Rejoice at our So!
སངས་རྒྱས་ཆོས་ཀྱི་དབུ་འཕང་བསྟོད། །
sangye chö kyi upang tö
Uphold the teachings of the Buddha,
ལས་ཅན་བསོད་ནམས་ལྡན་པ་ཡི། །
lechen sönam denpa yi
Spread the fame of the fortunate ones with the right karma
སྙན་གྲགས་མཁའ་དང་མཉམ་པར་བྱེད། །
nyendrak kha dang nyampar jé
Endowed with merit to the far reaches of space!
མཆོད་དོ་ཨ་དཀར་ཝེར་མ་ནི། །
chö do a kar werma ni
I make offerings to you, Akar Werma!
ཀླུང་རྟ་སྙན་པའི་བ་དན་བདག །
lung ta nyenpé baden dak
Owner of the inspiring, auspicious windhorse flags,
བདུད་འདུལ་ཝེར་མའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཆེ། །
düdul wermé gyalpo ché
Great king of the wermas who subdues the maras,
སྐྱེས་མཆོག་གེ་སར་ནོར་བུ་མཆོད། །
kyechok gesar norbu chö
Supreme being Gesar the Jewel, I make offerings to you!
མཆོད་དོ་བསྟོད་དོ་མཐུ་བོ་ཆེ། །
chö do tö do tuwo ché
I make offerings to you! I praise you, O most powerful one!
མཐུ་རྩལ་ནུས་པའི་ཤུགས་ཕྱུངས་ལ། །
tutsal nüpé shuk chung la
Fiercely powerful father-gods,
དམ་ལྡན་རྣལ་འབྱོར་བདག་ཅག་གི །
damden naljor dakchak gi
Show the power of your might, strength and ability
ཕོ་ལྷ་གཉན་པོ་ཁྱེད་ཀྱིས་མཛོད། །
polha nyenpo khyé kyi dzö
And do so for us, the practitioners who abide by the samayas.
ཀླུང་གི་ཀ་བ་གནམ་དུ་སྒྲེངས། །
lung gi kawa nam du dreng
Hoist our windhorse flags high in the sky,
ཚེ་ཡི་དམུ་ཐག་གྱེན་དུ་དྲོངས། །
tsé yi mu tak gyendu drong
Draw up the Mu-cord of longevity,
སྲིད་པ་གསུམ་གྱི་གཙུག་རོལ་ན། །
sipa sum gyi tsuk rol na
Make the thunder of our extraordinary fame
ཆེ་བཙན་འགྲན་ཟླ་མེད་པ་ཡི། །
chetsen drenda mepa yi
As a peerless mighty lord,
ངོ་མཚར་སྙན་པའི་འབྲུག་སྒྲ་སྒྲོགས། །
ngotsar nyenpé drukdra drok
Roar on the summit of the three realms!
སྣང་སྲིད་བྲན་དུ་འཁོལ་བར་མཛོད། །
nangsi dren du kholwar dzö
Make all of phenomenal existence our servant!

So! When you glide through the mid-air realm,
རྫུ་འཕྲུལ་རྐྱང་རྒོད་ཕེར་པོ་ཆིབས། །
dzutrul kyang gö perpo chib
On the back of the magical chestnut steed of many skills
དགྲ་བླའི་སྐུ་ཆས་ཡོངས་སུ་རྫོགས། །
dralé ku ché yongsu dzok
Garbed in the complete regalia of the dralas,
སྟག་སེང་ཁྱུང་འབྲུག་རྔམ་རྔམ་གཡོ། །
tak seng khyung druk ngam ngam yo
Together with the tiger, lion, garuḍa and dragon who move with dazzling splendour,
དྲེགས་པ་སྡེ་བརྒྱད་སྤྲིན་ལྟར་གཏིབ། །
drekpa dé gyé trin tar tib
The eight classes of haughty spirits who mass in thick clouds
དགྲ་བླ་ཝེར་མ་གློག་ལྟར་འཁྱུག །
drala werma lok tar khyuk
And the dralas and wermas darting swift as lightning—
གཡུལ་ལ་མགུ་ཞིང་དམག་ལ་དགྱེས། །
yul la gu zhing mak la gyé
Delight in battle, rejoice in war!
ཕ་རོལ་དཔུང་འཇོམས་མཐུ་བོ་ཆེ། །
parol pung jom tuwo ché
You who are so powerful, conquer the hordes of enemies!
མཆོད་དོ་ནོར་བུ་དགྲ་འདུལ་རྩལ། །
chö do norbu dradul tsal
I make offerings to you, mighty Norbu Dradül,
སྐྱེས་བུ་སེང་ཆེན་རྒྱལ་པོ་མཆོད། །
kyebu sengchen gyalpo chö
Great being, King Great Lion, I make offerings to you!
མཆོད་དོ་བསྟེན་ནོ་སྙིང་གི་ལྷ། །
chö do ten no nying gi lha
I offer to you! I rely upon you, deity of my heart!
རིག་འཛིན་རྣལ་འབྱོར་བདག་ཅག་གི །
rigdzin naljor dakchak gi
Fiercely powerful shoulder-gods, carry out our wishes,
འཕྲག་ལྷ་གཉན་པོ་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་མཛོད། །
trak lha nyenpo khyö kyi dzö
Yogins, holders of awareness.
ཀླུང་རྟ་སྙན་པའི་བ་དན་ཕྱོར། །
lung ta nyenpé baden chor
Hoist the inspiring flags of our windhorse!
མི་མཐུན་དགྲ་དཔུང་ཆམ་ལ་ཕོབ། །
mitün drapung cham la pob
Vanquish the armies of enemies who come up against us!
མི་མཉམ་པ་དང་མཉམ་དུ་ཆུག །
mi nyampa dang nyamdu chuk
Level up all unevenness!
མཉམ་པ་རྣམས་ལས་ཁྱད་དུ་ཐོན། །
nyampa nam lé khyé du tön
Make us stand out from our equals!
བཟང་རྒུའི་རྒྱལ་ཁ་ཐོན་པ་དང༌། །
zang gü gyalkha tönpa dang
Make us victorious over every adversity
ཆེ་རྒུའི་མགོ་བོ་གནོན་པ་ཡིས། །
chegü gowo nönpa yi
By giving us success in every beneficial circumstance,
ཕྱོགས་ལས་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ་བར་མཛོད། །
chok lé nampar gyalwar dzö
And subdue those in positions of power!
སངས་རྒྱས་ཆོས་ཀྱི་དགྲ་བླ་དང། །
sangye chö kyi drala dang
Dralas of the Buddhadharma,

Hé! When you range over the expanse of the earth,
འཇིག་བྱེད་བསྐལ་པའི་མེ་རླུང་འཁྲུགས། །
jik jé kalpé mé lung truk
You fan the flames of the destructive fire of the end of times,
ཕྱག་ན་ལྕགས་གཞུ་ལྕགས་མདའ་འགེངས། །
chak na chak zhu chak da geng
And raise in your hands an iron bow and arrow
བདུད་དགྲའི་སྲོག་གི་གནད་ལ་འདེབས། །
dü dré sok gi né la deb
With which you pierce the life-source of demonic enemies!
ཆོས་སྐྱོང་སྡེ་བརྒྱད་བྲན་བཞིན་འདུ། །
chökyong dé gyé dren zhin du
You who gather around you the eight classes of dharma protectors as your servants,
སྲིད་གསུམ་སྤྲུལ་པའི་དམག་གིས་གང། །
si sum trulpé mak gi gang
Fill the three planes of existence with your armies of emanations,
ཀུན་ཀྱང་མི་བཟད་ཁྲོ་གཏུམ་འབར། །
kün kyang mi zé trotum bar
Each and every one raging with a terrifying wrath and fury!
ཀི་བསོ་ཆ་སྒྲ་དི་རི་རི། །
ki so cha dra di riri
ki so cha dra di ri ri!
དགྲ་ཤ་ཟ་ཞིང་དགྲ་ཁྲག་འཐུང༌། །
drasha za zhing dra traktung
Eat the flesh of our enemies! Drink their blood!
ཤ་ལ་རྔམས་ཞིང་གསོད་ལ་ཧུར། །
sha la ngam zhing sö la hur
Devour their flesh and kill with dexterity!
དམ་ཉམས་སྲོག་ལ་རྒྱུག་པའི་དཔུང། །
damnyam sok la gyukpé pung
To the forces that fall on the life-force of samaya breakers,
མཆོད་དོ་བསྟེན་ནོ་མཐུ་བོ་ཆེ། །
chö do ten no tuwo ché
I make offerings! I rely upon you, you who are so powerful!
དམ་ལྡན་བདག་གི་དགྲ་བླ་མཛོད། །
damden dak gi drala dzö
For us who keep samaya, be our drala!
ཕྱོགས་མཚམས་སྟེང་འོག་གང་ནས་ཀྱང། །
choktsam tengok gangné kyang
Spot in every cardinal and intermediary direction, above and below—in every corner,
བདག་ལ་བསམ་སྦྱོར་ངན་པ་ཡི། །
dak la samjor ngenpa yi
Enemies and obstructing forces who have
དགྲ་བགེགས་གང་འདུག་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་མཐོང། །
dragek gang duk khyö kyi tong
Negative intentions towards us or try to harm us!
དེ་མ་ཐག་དུ་ཁུག་ལ་ཤོག །
dé ma tak du khuk la shok
Bring them in front of you instantly!
སྨྲ་བ་ངན་པའི་ལྕེ་ཆོད་ལ། །
mawa ngenpé ché chö la
Cut out the tongues of those who speak ill of us!
བསམ་ངན་འཆང་བའི་དོན་སྙིང་དྲོངས། །
sam ngen changwé dönnying drong
Rip out the hearts of those who harbour evil intentions!
སྦྱོར་ངན་ཤོམས་པའི་ལག་པ་བྲོག །
jor ngen shompé lakpa drok
Sever the hands of those who prepare evil actions!
རྩུབ་མོར་ལྟ་བའི་མིག་ཕྱུངས་ལ། །
tsubmor tawé mik chung la
Gouge out the eyes of those who see us negatively!
བཞིན་ངན་སྟོན་པའི་མགོ་བོ་ཆོད། །
zhin ngen tönpé gowo chö
Decapitate those who show us an ugly face!
གཤེ་ཞིང་འཕྱ་བའི་ཀླུང་རྟ་སྣུབ། །
shé zhing chawé lung ta nub
Bring down the windhorse of protestors and critics!
མདུན་གྲོས་ཤིག་ལ་བསམ་པ་སྒྱུར། །
dün drö shik la sampa gyur
Destroy their plans and change their minds!
དགྲ་བགེགས་གཏན་ནས་བརླག་པར་མཛོད། །
dragek ten né lakpar dzö
Completely eradicate enemies and obstructing forces!
རིག་འཛིན་རྣལ་འབྱོར་བདག་ཅག་དང། །
rigdzin naljor dakchak dang
For us yogis, holders of awareness,
ལུས་དང་གྲིབ་ལྟར་མི་འབྲལ་བར། །
lü dang drib tar mindral bar
Remedy all obstacles to goodness and joy,
ལེགས་དང་སྤྲོད་ལ་ཉེས་དང་བསྣོལ། །
lek dang trö la nyé dang nol
Let us never be apart from them, make them inseparable from us, like shadow and body!
མ་ཤེས་སློབ་ལ་མ་དྲན་སྐུལ། །
ma shé lob la ma dren kul
Teach us what we don’t know, summon our memory of all we have forgotten!
འགྲན་འདོད་ཆམ་ལ་ཕབ་པ་ཡི། །
dren dö cham la pabpa yi
Vanquish those who seek to compete with us—
ཟིལ་གནོན་རྡོ་རྗེའི་ཏོག་མཐོ་བ། །
zilnön dorjé tok towa
Raise our triumph as high as the vajra crest of the victory banner!
དབང་དྲག་རུ་དང་རྔམ་པ་ཡི། །
wang drak ru dang ngampa yi
Plant the poles of the immutable windhorse flags
མི་འགྱུར་ཀླུང་གི་ཀ་བ་ཚུགས། །
mingyur lung gi kawa tsuk
Of magnetizing and subjugating activities!
སུམ་རྩེན་པདྨའི་དགའ་ཚལ་དང། །
sum tsen pemé gatsal dang
From the lotus grove in the heavens,
མཁའ་སྤྱོད་རིག་འཛིན་གྲུབ་པའི་གྲོང། །
khachö rigdzin drubpé drong
From the crowds of flying vidyādharas and siddhas,
མི་དབང་ཆེ་རྒུའི་མདུན་ས་ནས། །
mi wang chegü dün sa né
And from the assemblies of those in positions of power,
སྟོབས་འབྱོར་ཕྱྭ་གཡང་བཅུད་བསྡུས་ལ། །
tobjor cha yang chü dü la
Gather the essence of strength, wealth, abundance and prosperity!
བཀྲ་ཤིས་ནོར་བུའི་གཞལ་ཡས་ཁང༌། །
tashi norbü zhalyé khang
In this auspicious Jewel Palace,
དགྲ་བླ་ཝེར་མའི་ཕོ་བྲང་འདིར། །
drala wermé podrang dir
The dralas and wermas’ castle,
སྟེང་ནས་ཆར་བཞིན་འབེབ་པ་དང། །
teng né char zhin bebpa dang
Like a rain falling from above,
བར་ནས་སྤྲིན་བཞིན་གཏིབ་པ་དང། །
bar né trin zhin tibpa dang
Like clouds gathering in the middle,
ས་གཞིར་ན་བུན་ལྟར་འཁྲིགས་ནས། །
sa zhir nabün tar trik né
And like mist assembling on the ground,
རྨ་གཡང་བཅུད་དུ་ཆགས་པར་མཛོད། །
mayang chü du chakpar dzö
Gather the vital essence of the abundance of Ma!
སྟེང་འོག་ཕྱོགས་མཚམས་གནས་པ་ཡི། །
tengok choktsam nepa yi
Kings, ministers, queens, subjects, Buddhist and Bönpo priests,
རྒྱལ་བློན་བཙུན་འབངས་བན་བོན་དང། །
gyal lön tsün bang benbön dang
Servants, women, goddesses and nāginīs
སྐྱེས་བྲན་བུད་མེད་ལྷ་ཀླུ་མི། །
kyé dren bümé lha lu mi
Who dwell above, below, and in all cardinal and intermediary directions—
སྣང་སྲིད་སྐྱེ་རྒུ་དབང་བསྡུས་ལ། །
nangsi kyegu wangdü la
Magnetize all beings of appearance and existence,
བདག་གི་བྲན་དུ་འཁོལ་བར་མཛོད། །
dak gi dren du kholwar dzö
And make them our servants!
མཁའ་དང་ས་གཞི་ཡངས་པའི་མཐར། །
kha dang sa zhi yangpé tar
May the strong wind of the wermas
སྙན་གྲགས་དྲི་བསུང་མངར་བའི་སྤྲིན། །
nyendrak drisung ngarwé trin
Carry to the far reaches of earth and space
ཝེར་མའི་རླུང་གིས་རབ་བསྐྱོད་པས། །
wermé lung gi rab kyöpé
Clouds pregnant with the sweet scent of our fame—
ཕྱོགས་རྣམས་མྱུར་དུ་ཁྱབ་པར་མཛོད། །
chok nam nyurdu khyabpar dzö
Make them pervade everywhere, and quickly!
རང་སེམས་ཐིག་ལེ་ཉག་གཅིག་དང། །
rangsem tiklé nyakchik dang
Armies of dralas, manifestations
མཉམ་པ་ཉིད་གྱུར་དགྲ་བླའི་དཔུང། །
nyampa nyi gyur dralé pung
Of the single bindu of our own mind and of great equality,
དོན་དམ་འབྲས་བུའི་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ །
döndam drebü heruka
Herukas of ultimate fruition—
མངོན་གྱུར་འགྲོ་རྣམས་སྒྲོལ་བར་མཛོད། །
ngöngyur dro nam drolwar dzö
Please appear and liberate beings!
ཞེས་ཤིང་ཕག་ཟླ་ ༩ ཚེས་ ༦ ལའོ།།
On the sixth day of the ninth month of the Wood Pig year (1875).
རྟེན་མདའ་དར་སོགས་བཞག མཆོད་པ་བསང་རྒྱས་པ་བྱ། ཚིག་མཚམས་སུ།
Place on the shrine the practice supports such as the beribboned arrow. Prepare offerings and a large sang. At the right points in the practice, add:
སངས་རྒྱས་ཆོས་ཀྱི་དགྲ་བླ་དང། །
sangye chö kyi drala dang
Dralas of the Buddhadharma,
འཇིག་རྟེན་སྲིད་པའི་དགྲ་བླ་རྣམས། །
jikten sipé drala nam
And dralas of worldly existence,
དེ་རིང་རྟེན་ལ་བརྟན་པར་བཞུགས། །
dering ten la tenpar zhuk
Today, come to stay in these supports and remain steadfast!
ཕོ་ལྷ་ཡོ་བ་དེ་རིང་འཆོས། །
polha yowa dering chö
Today I restore harmony with the father-gods!4
དམ་ཚིག་ཉམས་ཆགས་དེ་རིང་བཤགས། །
damtsik nyamchak dering shak
Today I confess breakages of samaya!
ལྷ་ལ་ངོ་སོ་དེ་རིང་བསྟོད། །
lha la ngo so dering tö
Today I chant praises of the gods!
བདུད་ལས་རྒྱལ་ཁ་དེ་རིང་ལོངས། །
dü lé gyalkha dering long
Today, give us victory over the maras!
ཕོ་ལྷ་མ་ཡོ་མ་འཁྱོམས་ཤིག །
polha ma yo ma khyom shik
Father-gods, come straight here!
དགྲ་བླ་མ་འཁྲུགས་མ་འཁོན་ཞིག །
drala ma truk ma khön zhik
Dralas, create no trouble, stir up no resentment!
རྣལ་འབྱོར་བདག་ཅག་འཁོར་བཅས་ལ། །
naljor dakchak khor ché la
Protect and guard us yogins and the people around us
བྱང་ཆུབ་བར་དུ་སྲུང་སྐྱོབ་མཛོད། །
changchub bardu sung kyob dzö
Until enlightenment!
རང་བྱུང་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཆེན་པོ་ནི། །
rangjung yeshe chenpo ni
Accomplish spontaneously what we envision,
དབྱེར་མེད་བསམ་དོན་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་མཛོད། །
yermé samdön lhundrup dzö
Indivisible, in great self-arisen primordial wisdom!
འདིས་ཕོ་ལྷ་ཡོ་བཅོས་ཀྱི་གོ་ཆོད། གཟའ་སྐར་ལེགས་པ་ལ་བྱ། མེ་སྤྲེལ་ཟླ་ ༤ ཚེས་ ༢༥ ལ་དྲན་པའོ།།
This extra prayer is to restore harmony with the father-gods. Practice it on an auspicious date. I remembered it on the twenty-fifth day of the fourth month of the Fire Monkey year (1896).

- ↑ In Tibet, clouds from the south always bring rain, which allows the crops to grow; hence the clouds being “the source of wealth.” These same clouds may also protect from frost, unlike clouds from the north, which bring snow. This explains why “southern clouds” are seen positively by Tibetans and are often used as an image of wealth in poetic compositions.
