༄༅། །ཡང་ཀླུང་རྟ་སྤེལ་སོགས།
Prayer to Raise Lungta

ཡང་ཀླུང་རྟ་སྤེལ་ན། མདུན་དུ་གེ་སར་དགྲ་བླའི་རྒྱལ་པོའི་སྐུ་རྟེན་བཀྲམ་པའི་སྤྱན་སྔར། ཀླུང་རྟའི་བ་དན་ནམ་མཁར་དར་ཕྱར། ཕྱེ་མར་བསང་གསེར་སྐྱེམས་སོགས་ཇི་འབྱོར་བའི་མཆོད་པ་བཀོད་པས་མཛེས་པར་བཤམས་ལ།
Should you wish to raise your lungta, place a consecrated image of Gesar, king of dralas, in front of you; raise windhorse flags in the sky and elegantly arrange offerings (chemar, sang, serkyem, and so on) in front of him. Then say:
ཧཱུཾ། སྣང་སྟོང་རོལ་པ་ཆེན་པོ་ལས། །
hung, nangtong rolpa chenpo lé
Hūṃ. The great play of appearance and emptiness
རིག་གསུམ་པདྨའི་སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་གར། །
rik sum pemé gyutrul gar
Unfolds in the display of Padma and the Three Families.
ནམ་མཁའི་མཐིང་གི་གུར་ཁྱིམ་ནས། །
namkhé ting gi gurkhyim né
In the tent of the deep-blue sky,
བདེ་མཆོག་ནོར་བུའི་ཕོ་བྲང་ན། །
demchok norbü podrang na
The Jewel Palace of supreme bliss appears,
དགྲ་བླའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་མཐུ་བོ་ཆེ། །
dralé gyalpo tuwo ché
Where the mighty king of dralas,
གེ་སར་ནོར་བུ་དགྲ་འདུལ་རྩལ། །
gesar norbu dradul tsal
Gesar Norbu Dradül Tsal, resides,
བདུད་འདུལ་དགྲ་བླ་ཝེར་མ་དང༌། །
düdul drala werma dang
Surrounded by māra-taming dralas and wermas
སྣང་སྲིད་དྲེགས་པ་སྡེ་བརྒྱད་བཅས། །
nangsi drekpa dé gyé ché
And all haughty spirits of the eight classes.
དད་པ་དང་ནི་དམ་ཚིག་གིས། །
depa dang ni damtsik gi
With faith and pure samaya
མཆོད་ཅིང་ཐུགས་དམ་བསྐུལ་ལགས་ན། །
chö ching tukdam kul lak na
We make offerings to you and invoke your sacred pledge—
ཀི་བསོ་ཆའོ་དགྲ་བླའི་དམག །
ki so cha o dralé mak
Ki so cha’o, armies of dralas!
འཇིགས་རུང་སེར་སྤྲིན་བཞིན་དུ་བསྐྱོད། །
jikrung ser trin zhindu kyö
Move like a fearsome golden cloud!
ཐུགས་དམ་མ་གཡེལ་ཝེར་མའི་དཔུང༌། །
tukdam ma yel wermé pung
Forces of wermas, do not forget your sacred vows!
མཆོད་དོ་བསྟོད་དོ་བཀུར་རོ་བཀྱགས། །
chö do tö do kur ro kyak
We make offerings to you! We praise you! We pay homage to you!
དར་སྣ་བ་དན་གློག་ལྟར་གཡོ། །
darna baden lok tar yo
Our multicoloured banners move like lightning
རྔ་དུང་རོལ་མོ་འབྲུག་ལྟར་སྒྲོགས། །
nga dung rolmo druk tar drok
Amidst the thundering clamour of drums, shawms, and cymbals, like the roar of a dragon!
སྣ་ཚོགས་མཆོད་པ་སྤྲིན་ལྟར་གཏིབས། །
natsok chöpa trin tar tib
All kinds of offerings are piled up like huge clouds—
ཀུན་ཀྱང་དག་མཉམ་ཆེན་པོ་ཡི། །
kün kyang dak nyam chenpo yi
With this nectar of primordial wisdom
རང་བཞིན་ཡེ་ཤེས་བདུད་རྩི་འདིས། །
rangzhin yeshe dütsi di
Whose nature is great purity and equality,
དགྲ་བླ་ཝེར་མ་གསོལ་ཞིང་མཆོད། །
drala werma sol zhing chö
I invoke the dralas and wermas and make offerings to you!
མངའ་གསོལ་གཟེངས་བསྟོད་དཔའ་སྐྱེམས་འབུལ། །
ngasol zengtö pa kyem bul
I exalt you! I honour and praise you! I offer you the drink of warriors!
རྣལ་འབྱོར་བདག་གི་མཐུ་དཔུང་གི །
naljor dak gi tu pung gi
Raise for us yogins the victory banner of might
རྒྱལ་མཚན་དགྲ་བླ་ཝེར་མ་ཡིས། །
gyaltsen drala werma yi
And marshal the power
ཐུགས་དམ་ནུས་པའི་དཔུང་བསྐྱེད་ལ། །
tukdam nüpé pung kyé la
Of the dralas’ and wermas’ sacred pledge!
ཕྲིན་ལས་མངོན་སུམ་ཉིད་དུ་སྒྲུབས། །
trinlé ngönsum nyi du drub
Accomplish your activities conspicuously!
སྲིད་པ་གསུམ་གྱི་གཙུག་རོལ་ན། །
sipa sum gyi tsuk rol na
Plant on the summit of the three realms of existence
ཆེ་བཙན་འགྲན་ཟླ་མེད་པ་ཡི། །
chetsen drenda mepa yi
The flagpole of the windhorse
ངོ་མཚར་སྙན་པའི་འབྲུག་སྒྲ་ཅན། །
ngotsar nyenpé drukdra chen
Whose marvellous thundering sound
ཀླུང་གི་ཀ་བ་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ཚུགས། །
lung gi kawa khyö kyi tsuk
Roars with incomparable might!
ཕྱོགས་ལས་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ་བ་ཡི། །
chok lé nampar gyalwa yi
The supreme banner of victory over all adversity
རྒྱལ་མཚན་སྲིད་པའི་རྩེར་མཐོ་བ། །
gyaltsen sipé tser towa
Flies above the whole world!
ཡིད་བཞིན་ནོར་བུའི་ཏོག་མཛེས་པའི། །
yizhin norbü tok dzepé
Place in my hands
མཆོག་འདི་བདག་གི་ལག་ཏུ་སྩོལ། །
chok di dak gi lak tu tsol
The wish-fulfilling jewel that beautifully adorns its crest!
བསམ་སྦྱོར་ངན་པའི་དགྲ་དང་བགེགས། །
samjor ngenpé dra dang gek
Increase my power, strength, and capacity,
བསྐལ་པའི་མེ་ཡིས་སྦྲང་བུ་བཞིན། །
kalpé mé yi drangbu zhin
My majesty, grandeur, and dominance,
གཟི་བྱིན་ཟིལ་གྱིས་བརླག་ནུས་པའི། །
zijin zil gyi lak nüpé
And the power to overcome enemies, obstructing forces, evil intentions, and harmful actions,
མཐུ་སྟོབས་ནུས་པ་ཆེས་ཆེར་བསྐྱེད། །
tutob nüpa ché cher kyé
Incinerating them like flies in the apocalyptic fire of the end of times!
དགྲ་བླ་ཝེར་མའི་སྐུ་དཔུང་ཤུགས། །
drala wermé ku pung shuk
Swiftly bring to me,
རྡོ་རྗེའི་མེ་རླུང་ལྟར་འབར་བ། །
dorjé mé lung tar barwa
Like rivers flowing into the ocean,
རྒྱ་མཚོ་ཆེ་ལ་ཆུ་བོ་བཞིན། །
gyatso ché la chuwo zhin
The strength of the armies of dralas and wermas
མྱུར་དུ་བདག་ལ་འཇུག་པར་མཛོད། །
nyurdu dak la jukpar dzö
Who are as powerful as an intense blaze of vajra fire fanned by wind!
ཕུན་ཚོགས་ལས་རླུང་གྲགས་པའི་རྟ་ཕོ་ལ། །
ཞོན་ནས་སྲིད་པའི་མཐོ་གྲལ་སྙེགས་འདོད་ན། །
སེང་ཆེན་རྡོ་རྗེ་རླུང་རྟའི་ཀ་འཛུག་ནི། །
ཡིད་བཞིན་དབང་གི་རྒྱལ་པོ་ལག་ཏུ་ལོངས། །
If you want to ride toward the upper reaches of the sky of worldly existence
On the back of the stallion Excellent Wind of Activities,
Plant posts of Sengchen Dorje’s prayer flag
And take in your hands the wish-fulfilling jewel, the “king of power.”
འདི་ལ་བརྟེན་པའི་དངོས་ཉམས་རྨི་ལམ་ལ། །
བཀྲ་ཤིས་ཀླུང་གི་ཤུགས་འཕེལ་བརྡའ་དང་རྟགས། །
རབ་དུ་གསལ་བར་མཐོང་བའི་མོད་ཉིད་ལ། །
དགེ་མཚན་སྙན་པ་འབུམ་གྱི་རོལ་མོ་འཁྲོལ།
ས་མ་ཡ།
If you do so, you will definitely see
Very clear signs and indications of the auspicious increase in the strength of your windhorse
In actuality, visions, or dreams,
And you’ll hear the symphony of a hundred thousand praises of your virtuous qualities.
Samaya.
རབ་ཚེས་ཤིང་ཁྱི་ཟླ་ ༦ ཚེས་ ༢༥ ལ་བྲིས་པ་དགེ། །
Written on the twenty-fifth day of the sixth month of the Wood Dog year in the 15th calendrical cycle (1874). Virtue!
