༄༅། །མཁའ་འགྲོ་སྙིང་ཐིག་གི་བརྒྱུད་འདེབས།

Prayer to the Lineage of Khandro Nyingtik

ཨཱོྃ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ།

om ah hung

oṃ āḥ hūṃ

ཆོས་ཀུན་ཀ་ནས་དག་པ་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཀྱི། །

chö kün kané dakpa yeshe kyi

The Great Perfection in which all phenomena have always been pure

སྐུ་དང་ཡོན་ཏན་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་རྫོགས་པ་ཆེ། །

ku dang yönten lhündrub dzogpa ché

And in which the kāyas and qualities are spontaneously present—

རང་རིག་འགྱུར་མེད་སྐུ་བཞིའི་ངོ་བོ་ཉིད། །

rangrig gyurmé ku zhi ngowo nyi

My own unchanging awareness, the very essence of the four kāyas—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བདག་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

solwa deb so dak gyü jingyi lob

ཁྱབ་བདག་སྟོན་པ་ཀུན་བཟང་ཆོས་ཀྱི་སྐུ། །

khyabdak tönpa kunzang chö kyi ku

Sovereign teacher, the dharmakāya Samantabhadra,

དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་གཙོ་མཆོག་ལོངས་སྐུ་རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས། །

kyilkhor tso chok longku dorjé sem

Supreme lord of the maṇḍala, Vajrasattva,

སྤྲུལ་པའི་སྐུ་མཆོག་དགའ་རབ་རྡོ་རྗེ་ལ། །

trulpé ku chok garab dorjé la

And the supreme nirmāṇakāya, Garab Dorje—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བདག་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

solwa deb so dak gyü jingyi lob

To you I pray: inspire me with your blessings!

པཎ་གྲུབ་ཀུན་གྱི་གཙུག་རྒྱན་ཤྲཱི་སིང་། །

pendrub kün gyi tsukgyen shrising

Śrī Siṃha, crown adornment of all paṇḍitas and siddhas,

དུས་གསུམ་རྒྱལ་བ་ཀུན་དངོས་པདྨ་འབྱུང་། །

dü sum gyalwa kün ngö pema jung

Padmasambhava, embodiment of all the victorious ones of the three times,

བདེ་ཆེན་མཁའ་འགྲོའི་གཙོ་མོ་མཁར་ཆེན་བཟའ། །

dechen khandrö tsomo khar chen za

And Lady of Kharchen, foremost of all the ḍākinīs of great bliss—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བདག་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

solwa deb so dak gyü jingyi lob

To you I pray: inspire me with your blessings!

ཟབ་གཏེར་གདམས་པའི་སྒོ་འབྱེད་ལས་འབྲེལ་རྩལ། །

zabter dampé gojé ledrel tsal

Ledrel Tsal, who unlocked the profound treasure instructions,

བཀའ་བབས་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བདག་པོ་ལེགས་ལྡན་པ། །

kabab chö kyi dakpo lekden pa

Lekden,¹ the custodian to whom the teachings were transmitted,

རང་བྱུང་ཆོས་ཀུན་མཁྱེན་པའི་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཛིན། །

rangjung chö künkhyen pé dorjé dzin

And Rangjung Dorje,² the omniscient holder of the vajra—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བདག་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

solwa deb so dak gyü jingyi lob

To you I pray: inspire me with your blessings!

སྡོམ་བརྩོན་མཁས་གྲུབ་དབང་པོ་གཡུང་སྟོན་པ། །

domtsön khedrub wangpo yung tönpa

Yungtönpa,³ lord among the learned and accomplished and observer of vows,

རོལ་པའི་རྡོ་རྗེ་ཆོས་རྡོར་ནམ་མཁའི་མཚན། །

rolpé dorjé chö dor namkhé tsen

Rolpai Dorje,⁴ Chökyi Dorje and the one called Namkha,

ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་འབུམ་དང་ཤཱི་ལ་དྷྭ་ཛའི་ཞབས། །

tsultrim bum dang shi la dhadzé zhab

Tsultrim Bum and Śīladhvāja (Tsultrim Gyaltsen)—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བདག་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

solwa deb so dak gyü jingyi lob

To you I pray: inspire me with your blessings!

ཕྲིན་ལས་ཕུན་ཚོགས་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྒྱལ་མཚན་ཅན། །

trinlé püntsok yeshe gyaltsen chen

Trinlé Phuntsok, Yeshe Gyaltsen,

སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་དབང་སེམས་དཔའ་ཆེན་པོ་དང་། །

chenrezik wang sempa chenpo dang

Great bodhisattva, Avalokiteśvara himself,

རྫ་ཡིག་ཚུལ་རྒྱལ་བསོད་ནམས་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ། །

dza yik tsul gyal sönam nampar gyal

Dzayik Tsultrim Gyaltsen and Sonam Namgyal—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བདག་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

solwa deb so dak gyü jingyi lob

To you I pray: inspire me with your blessings!

ཐུགས་སྲས་རྒྱལ་མཆོག་རྗེ་བཙུན་ཕྲིན་ལས་མཚན། །

tuksé gyal chok jetsün trinlé tsen

Sublime victorious heart-heir Jetsün Trinlé,

རྣལ་འབྱོར་དབང་ཕྱུག་ཀུན་བཟང་དཔལ་འབྱོར་དང་། །

naljor wangchuk kunzang paljor dang

Lord of yogins Kunzang Paljor,

མཁས་གྲུབ་ཟླ་མེད་མདོ་སྔགས་བསྟན་འཛིན་བཟང་། །

khedrub damé do ngak tendzin zang

And the incomparably learned and accomplished Do-Ngak Tenzin—⁵

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བདག་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

solwa deb so dak gyü jingyi lob

To you I pray: inspire me with your blessings!

གསང་བདག་དཔའ་བོ་ཕྲིན་ལས་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ཞབས། །

sangdak pawo trinlé lhündrub zhab

The heroic Sangdak Trinlé Lhundrup,⁶

སྐྱབས་གསུམ་ཀུན་འདུས་ངོ་བོ་རིག་པ་འཛིན། །

kyab sum kündü ngowo rigpa dzin

And the vidyādhara essence and embodiment of the Three Jewels,

དྲིན་ཅན་བླ་མ་འགྱུར་མེད་རྡོ་རྗེ་ལ། །

drinchen lama gyurmé dorjé la

The gracious guru, Gyurme Dorje—

ཉང་སྟོན་ཆོས་རྗེ་གནུབས་སྟོན་རིན་ཆེན་དཔལ། །

nyang tön chöjé nub tön rinchen pal

Nyangtön Chöjé, Nubtön Rinchen Pal,

ནམ་མཁའ་ཤེས་རབ་པཎ་ཆེན་པདྨ་དབང་། །

namkha sherab penchen pema wang

Namkha Sherab, great paṇḍita Pema Wangyal,⁷

ལེགས་ལྡན་རྡོ་རྗེ་དོན་རྒྱལ་རྣམ་གཉིས་ལ། །

lekden dorjé dön gyal nam nyi la

Lekden Dorje⁸ and Döndrup Gyaltsen—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བདག་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

ཚེ་རིང་དབང་པོ་རང་གྲོལ་ཀླུ་སྒྲུབ་མཚན། །

tsering wangpo rangdrol ludrub tsen

Tsering Wangpo,⁹ Rangdrol Ludrup,¹⁰

སེ་སྟོན་ཐུགས་མཆོག་འོད་འབར་རིག་པ་འཛིན། །

sé tön tuk chok öbar rigpa dzin

The vidyādhara Setön Tukchok Öbar,

དྲིན་ཅན་བླ་མ་འགྱུར་མེད་རྡོ་རྗེ་ལ། །

drinchen lama gyurmé dorjé la

And the gracious guru, Gyurme Dorje—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བདག་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས།།

Longchenpa, master of the definitive teachings,

བདེ་ལེགས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་བཀྲ་ཤིས་འབྱུང་གནས་ཞབས། །

delek gyatso tashi jungné zhab

Delek Gyatso, and noble Tashi Jungné—¹¹

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བདག་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

solwa deb so dak gyü jingyi lob

To you I pray: inspire me with your blessings!

གཞོན་ནུ་བློ་གྲོས་རབ་གསལ་ཟླ་བ་མགོན། །

zhönnu lodrö rabsal dawa gön

Zhönnu Lodrö, lord Rabsal Dawa,

མཁྱེན་རབ་དབང་ཕྱུག་པཎ་ཆེན་པདྨ་དབང་། །

khyen rab wangchuk penchen pema wang

Khyenrab Wangchuk and great paṇḍita Pema Wangyal,

སོགས་གོང་ལྟར་རོ། །

For the lineage that prioritizes the [Khandro] Yangtik

ཀུན་མཁྱེན་གྱི་རྗེས་སུ།

After Omniscient Longchenpa:

མཚུངས་མེད་ཡེ་ཤེས་རབ་འབྱམས་བསམ་གཏན་མཚན། །

tsungmé yeshe rabjam samten tsen

Incomparable Yeshe Rabjam,¹² the one named Samten,¹³

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བདག་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

solwa deb so dak gyü jingyi lob

To you I pray: inspire me with your blessings!

སྦྱིན་པ་བཟང་པོ་སྤྲུལ་སྐུ་ཟབ་ལུང་པ། །

jinpa zangpo tulku zab lungpa

Jinpa Zangpo,¹⁴ Tulku Zablungpa,

རྫོགས་ཆེན་རྣལ་འབྱོར་བསོད་ནམས་རིན་ཆེན་དང་། །

dzogchen naljor sönam rinchen dang

The Dzogchen yogin Sonam Rinchen,¹⁵

རྩེ་ལེ་རིག་འཛིན་བསོད་ནམས་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ། །

tsé lé rigdzin sönam nampar gyal

Tsele Rigdzin Sonam Namgyal—¹⁶

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བདག་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

solwa deb so dak gyü jingyi lob

To you I pray: inspire me with your blessings!

སངས་རྒྱས་རིན་ཆེན་སངས་རྒྱས་རྒྱལ་མཚན་དང་། །

sangye rinchen sangye gyaltsen dang

Sangye Rinchen, Sangye Gyaltsen,

རྫ་ཡིག་ཚུལ་རྒྱལ་བསོད་ནམས་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ། །

dza yik tsul gyal sönam nampar gyal

Dzayik Tsultrim Gyaltsen, Sonam Namgyal,

ཨོ་རྒྱན་བསྟན་འཛིན་ཀརྨ་གུ་རུའི་ཞབས། །

orgyen tendzin karma gurü zhab

Orgyen Tendzin and Karma Guru—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བདག་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

solwa deb so dak gyü jingyi lob

ཀུན་བཟང་དཔལ་འབྱོར་མདོ་སྔགས་བསྟན་འཛིན་བཟང་། །

kunzang paljor do ngak tendzin zang

Kunzang Paljor, noble Do-Ngak Tendzin,

གསང་བདག་ཆེན་པོ་ཕྲིན་ལས་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་དང་། །

sangdak chenpo trinlé lhündrub dang

The great Sangdak Trinlé Lhundrup,

དྲིན་ཅན་བླ་མ་འགྱུར་མེད་རྡོ་རྗེ་ལ། །

drinchen lama gyurmé dorjé la

And the gracious guru Gyurme Dorje—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བདག་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

solwa deb so dak gyü jingyi lob

To you I pray: inspire me with your blessings!

དེ་ལྟར་བརྒྱུད་ལུགས་གང་བྱེད་ཀྱང་མཐར། །

Whichever version of the lineage you adopt, conclude with:

སངས་རྒྱས་ཀུན་གྱི་ཡེ་ཤེས་སྒྱུ་དྲྭའི་གར། །

sangye kün gyi yeshe gyu dré gar

Magical manifestations of the wisdom of all the buddhas,

ཐུན་མོང་འགྲོ་ལ་ཟབ་མོའི་ལམ་བཟང་རྣམས། །

tünmong dro la zabmö lamzang nam

Who, with their enlightened activity born of boundless compassion,

གསལ་མཛད་ཚད་མེད་ཐུགས་རྗེའི་ཕྲིན་ལས་ཅན། །

sal dzé tsemé tukjé trinlé chen

Illuminate the excellent and profound path for ordinary beings—

རྩ་བརྒྱུད་བླ་མ་རྣམས་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

tsa gyü lama nam la solwa deb

Root and lineage gurus, to you I pray.

དབྱིངས་རིག་དབྱེར་མེད་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྣམ་ལྔའི་རྩལ། །

yingrik yermé yeshe nam ngé tsal

Play of the five primordial wisdoms, indivisible space and awareness,

ཞི་ཁྲོ་རབ་འབྱམས་རྒྱལ་བའི་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ལྷར། །

zhitro rabjam gyalwé kyilkhor lhar

Arisen as the deities of the infinite peaceful and wrathful maṇḍalas of victorious ones

ཡོངས་ཤར་དཔའ་བོ་མཁའ་འགྲོའི་ཚོགས་བཅས་པས། །

yong shar pawo khandrö tsok chepé

Together with all the hosts of vīras and ḍākinīs,

ཚད་མེད་ཐུགས་རྗེས་དགོངས་ནས་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

tsemé tukjé gong né jingyi lob

Please consider me in your boundless compassion and inspire me with your blessings.

དེང་ནས་མི་ཁོམ་གནས་སྤང་དལ་འབྱོར་རྟེན། །

deng né mikhom né pang daljor ten

From now on, may I avoid unfree states and always find the support

ཡོངས་རྙེད་དགེ་བའི་བཤེས་ཀྱིས་རྗེས་གཟུང་སྟེ། །

yong nyé geweshé kyi jé zung té

Of the freedoms and advantages, and may I be guided by a teacher,

ལམ་མིན་ལམ་ལྟར་བཅོས་པས་མི་འདྲིད་པར། །

lam min lam tar chöpé mi dripar

Without ever being deceived into following a false or inauthentic path,

ཡང་དག་ལམ་དུ་གེགས་མེད་འཇུག་པར་ཤོག །

yangdak lam du gekmé jukpar shok

As I embrace the genuine way and progress without obstacle.

མི་རྟག་འཆི་བས་རྒྱུད་བསྐུལ་ལས་འབྲས་ཚུལ། །

mi tak chiwé gyü kul lé dré tsul

May I be spurred on by impermanence, recognize the infallible process of karma,

བསླུ་མེད་ཤེས་པས་སྲིད་བདེ་རྨི་ལམ་ལྟར། །

lumé shepé si dé milam tar

Realize how the ordinary pleasures of existence

འཁྲུལ་པར་རྟོགས་ནས་ངེས་འབྱུང་བརྟན་པོ་ཡིས། །

trulpar tok né ngejung tenpo yi

Are as delusory as dreams, and through stable renunciation,

རྣམ་གྲོལ་ཐར་པའི་ལམ་སྣ་ཟིན་པར་ཤོག །

namdrol tarpé lam na zinpar shok

Set out steadfastly on the path to perfect freedom and liberation.

ཐོག་མེད་དུས་ནས་དྲིན་གྱིས་རྗེས་བསྐྱངས་པའི། །

tokmé dü né drin gyi jé kyangpé

With compassion that recognizes all beings of the six classes

འགྲོ་དྲུག་ཕ་མར་ཤེས་པའི་སྙིང་རྗེ་དང་། །

dro druk pamar shepé nyingjé dang

As parents who cared for me throughout beginningless time,

གཞན་ཕན་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་ཀྱི་ཕྲིན་ལས་ཀྱིས། །

zhenpen changchub sem kyi trinlé kyi

And with activity based on the altruistic attitude of bodhicitta,

ཕན་དང་བདེ་བའི་དཔལ་ལ་འགོད་པར་ཤོག །

pen dang dewé pal la göpar shok

May I lead everyone to the splendour of benefit and happiness.

ཟབ་ལམ་སྟོན་པའི་དྲིན་ཅན་བླ་མ་ལ། །

zablam tönpé drinchen lama la

May I take up the path of overwhelming devotion

བཟོད་མེད་མོས་གུས་ལམ་དུ་ལོངས་པ་དང་། །

zömé mögü lam du longpa dang

Towards the gracious guru who reveals the profound path,

དབང་གི་ཆུ་བོས་བདག་རྒྱུད་ཡོངས་སྨིན་ནས། །

wang gi chuwö dak gyü yong min né

And with my mind fully matured through the river of empowerment,

སྐུ་བཞིའི་འབྲས་བུ་མངོན་དུ་འགྱུར་བར་ཤོག །

ku zhi drebu ngön du gyurwar shok

May I actualize the fruition of the four kāyas.

གདོད་ནས་རང་གནས་སེམས་ཉིད་ཆོས་སྐུའི་གདངས། །

döné rangné semnyi chökü dang

With the radiance of the primordially indwelling dharmakāya nature of mind

རྣམ་འགྱུར་ལྷ་སྔགས་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྣམ་རོལ་དུ། །

namgyur lha ngak yeshe namrol du

Perfectly manifest as the play of deity, mantra and primordial wisdom,

ཡོངས་གྲུབ་དག་པའི་སྣང་བ་འབྱམས་ཀླས་པའི། །

yongdrub dakpé nangwa jamlepé

May I actualize the Great Perfection, the nature of reality itself,

ཆོས་ཉིད་རྫོགས་པ་ཆེན་པོ་མངོན་གྱུར་ཤོག །

chönyi dzogpachenpo ngöngyur shok

In which purity of perception is unbounded.

འཁོར་འདས་ཀ་དག་རང་སྣང་རིས་མེད་ཀྱི། །

khordé kadak rangnang rimé kyi

May I reach the culmination of the yoga of the four visions,

གནས་ལུགས་ནང་གསལ་གཞོན་ནུ་བུམ་སྐུའི་གདངས། །

neluk nangsal zhönnu bumkü dang

With their boundless, spontaneously present kāyas and pure realms

ལྷུན་གྲུབ་སྐུ་དང་ཞིང་ཁམས་ཚད་མེད་པའི། །

lhündrub ku dang zhingkham tsemepé

That are the radiance of the inwardly luminous youthful vase body,

སྣང་བཞིའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་མཐའ་རུ་ཕྱིན་པར་ཤོག །

nang zhi naljor ta ru chinpar shok

The unbiased, self-manifest nature of originally pure saṃsāra and nirvāṇa.

དེ་ལས་ཀུན་ཁྱབ་རང་རིག་རྫོགས་སངས་རྒྱས། །

dé lé künkhyab rangrig dzoksang gyé

The perfect buddha state of my own all-pervasive awareness,

མངོན་པར་བྱང་ཆུབ་འཕོ་མེད་མཆོག་གི་སར། །

ngönpar changchub pomé chok gi sar

At the supreme level of non-transferable, manifest awakening,

སྐུ་དང་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཡོན་ཏན་ཡོངས་རྫོགས་པའི། །

ku dang yeshe yönten yongdzokpé

In which kāyas and wisdom qualities are perfectly complete—

འབྲས་བུ་ཚེ་འདི་ཉིད་ལ་འགྲུབ་པར་ཤོག །

drebu tsé di nyi la drubpar shok

May I realize the fruition within this very lifetime.

མདོར་ན་བདག་གི་སྒོ་གསུམ་བྱ་བ་ཀུན། །

dorna dak gi go sum jawa kün

In short, may all that I do through my body, speech or mind,

བསྟན་དང་འགྲོ་བའི་ཕན་བདེའི་གཞིར་གྱུར་ནས། །

ten dang drowé pendé zhir gyur né

Lay the foundation of benefit and happiness for the teachings and beings,

འོད་གསལ་རྫོགས་པ་ཆེན་པོའི་མྱུར་ལམ་ལས། །

ösal dzogpachenpö nyurlam lé

And may I lead everyone along the swift path of the luminous Great Perfection

ཀུན་བཟང་གདོད་མའི་ཞིང་དུ་འགོད་པར་ཤོག །

kunzang dömé zhing du göpar shok

དབང་ལུང་གི་བརྒྱུད་པའི་རྣམ་གྲངས་གཞན་ཡང་ཡོད་མོད། དབང་ཁྲིད་ལུང་གསུམ་ཀའི་བརྒྱུད་ལུགས་གཙོ་ཆེ་བ་ནི་དེ་ཙམ་མོ། །

There are other lineages for the empowerments and reading transmissions. These are simply the most important lineages covering all three aspects of empowerment, instruction, and reading transmission.
