The Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Ḍākinī Practice

Paying homage at the very outset
To the ḍākinī Vajravārāhī,
Who fulfils each and every wish,
I shall now set out the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Ḍākinī.

Begin by sitting on a comfortable seat in an isolated, pleasant location. Take refuge and generate bodhicitta. Recite "Ah! Ah! Ah!" and consider that from the state of emptiness Vajravārāhī appears, sky blue in colour, upon a corpse and in the heart of a lotus and sun disc. She is in dancing posture, with her right leg drawn in, the heel pointing towards her bhaga, and her left leg extended. She is naked, with three eyes, loose hair, and sagging breasts. Her right hand brandishes a curved knife in the air. The left holds at her heart a skull-cup full of blood. She is marked by the dark blue sow’s head that protrudes and grunts. She wears a crown and necklace of human skulls. Her upper body is cloaked in human skin and elephant hide. She is adorned with precious ornaments and holds a khaṭvaṅga in the crook of her arm. She exclaims "Phaṭ!" and "Pheṃ!" Amidst a mass of bright, blazing fire, she is surrounded by the ḍākinīs of the four families.

Visualize in your heart, in the centre of a sun disc, a whirling svastika of light, in the middle of which is a blue a, with a white ha to the east, a yellow ri to the south, a red ni to the west, and a green sa to the north. They emit rays of light, at the tips of which are the five classes of ḍākinīs, who fill the entire expanse of space, reciting, "A ha ri ni sa!" Consider that siddhis and all that is desirable descends like rain. Unite and hold the wind-energies, and meditate undistractedly. If you wish to perform the recitation, consider that the svastika in the heart turns clockwise, sending rays of light in the ten directions. The whole of appearance and existence then trembles and shakes, as it is brought under your control. Your longevity and wealth increase, and sickness, harmful influences and obstructing forces are pacified. Consider that all the ḍākinīs, who fill the whole of space, recite the mantra. And as you say, "A ha ri ni sa citta hriṃ hriṃ ja ja siddhi phala hoḥ!" consider that you receive the siddhis of the four types of enlightened activity. Recognize all appearances as having the nature of the ḍākinī, all sounds as the spontaneous sound of the vidyā-mantra, and all thoughts and impressions as by nature primordial wisdom. After the session, do not dissolve the form of the ḍākinī but continue the visualization as you dedicate the merit.

Meditating like this for twenty-one days will cause meditative experience to blaze forth and bring vast quantities of riches, food and clothing. In your dreams, you will encounter many groups of women.

At the time of accomplishment, offer torma and perform the fire offering on a vast scale. For this, visualize the ḍākinī within the fire and burn various types of food, various grains, fine silk, precious stones, and cards bearing the names of people and places. Recite the root mantra and sharpen your awareness. Recite verses of auspiciousness. Visualize the torma as nectar, and offer it at midnight with seven recitations of the root mantra.

The Buddha Ḍākinī confers the siddhi of the great view that transcends the conceptual mind. As the samaya, do not harbour speculations as to what is or is not so. The Vajra Ḍākinī confers spontaneously accomplished clear light meditation. As the samaya, do not succumb to the enemies, dullness and agitation. The Padma Ḍākinī confers unattached, self-liberated conduct, and magnetizes beings. As the samaya, rely on women and meditate on the meaning of bliss and emptiness. The Ratna Ḍākinī confers the two types of siddhi, so do not be attached or harbour hopes and fears. A particular feature of the Ratna Ḍākinī is that she brings a great rain of food and wealth. As the samaya, distribute stores of gifts without attachment. The Karma Ḍākinī eliminates harmful forces, hindrances, and obstacles. As the samaya, trample upon uncertainty and practise crazy, rough-mannered conduct.

This will bring swift accomplishment. Through the virtue of this, may all beings find the attainment of the ḍākinī!
