The Sunlight of Blessings: A Prayer

དུས་གསུམ་རྒྱལ་བ་ཐམས་ཅད་འདུས་པའི་སྐུ། །

dü sum gyalwa tamché düpé ku

Embodiment of all the victorious buddhas of past, present and future,

མ་ལུས་འགྲོ་ཀུན་འདྲེན་པའི་དེད་དཔོན་མཆོག །

malü dro kün drenpé depön chok

Supreme guide leading all wandering beings,

མཁའ་འགྲོ་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་ཚོགས་དཔོན་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ །

khandro gyatsö tsok pön heruka

Heruka presiding over the assembly of ḍākas and ḍākinīs,

ཡིད་བཞིན་ནོར་བུ་ཁྱེད་ལ་སྙིང་ནས་འདུད། །

yizhin norbu khyé la nying né dü

To you, Wish-fulfilling Jewel, I offer heartfelt homage!

ཁྱོད་ལས་ལྷག་པའི་བླ་མ་བདག་ལ་མེད། །

khyö lé lhakpé lama dak la mé

I have no greater teacher than you!

ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་གསུང་ལས་ཉམས་ལེན་བཞན་དུ་མེད། །

khyö kyi sung lé nyamlen zhen du mé

I have no practice other than your advice!

དུས་ཀུན་རེ་ལྟོས་གཅིག་པུར་ཁྱོད་བསྟེན་ན། །

dü kün ré tö chikpur khyö ten na

At all times, I rely on you as my only hope,

ཡིད་བཞིན་ནོར་ཞེས་འབོད་པ་དོན་ལྡན་མཛོད། །

yizhin nor zhé böpa dönden dzö

Calling out to you as my wish-fulfilling jewel: may you be just that!

བདག་ནི་བློ་དམན་སྦྱངས་པ་ཆུང་བས་ན། །

dak ni lomen jangpa chungwé na

My mental powers are weak and my training slight,

སྤོང་ཀློག་རྒྱ་ཆེར་བྱེད་ལ་མཐུ་ཆུང་ཡང་། །

pong lok gyacher jé la tu chung yang

I have little capacity for renunciation or extensive study,

བླ་མ་མཆོག་དང་འཇམ་དཔལ་གཞོན་ནུ་ཟུང་། །

lama chok dang jampal zhönnu zung

But I visualize you, supreme guru, inseparable from the ever-youthful Mañjuśrī,

དབྱེར་མེད་སྤྱི་བོའི་གཙུག་གམ་སྙིང་དབུས་སུ། །

yermé chiwö tsuk gam nying ü su

On the crown of my head or in the centre of my heart.

བཞུགས་པར་མོས་ནས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་ལགས་ན། །

zhukpar mö né solwa deb lak na

And, with devotion, pray to you sincerely:

བྱིན་རླབས་ཐུགས་རྗེའི་བགོ་སྐལ་མི་དམན་པར། །

jinlab tukjé go kal mi menpar

Inspire me so that my share of blessings and compassion is not meagre,

དབང་གིས་སྨིན་ཅིང་གདམས་པས་རྒྱུད་གྲོལ་ཏེ། །

wang gi min ching dampé gyü drol té

My mindstream is ripened through empowerment and liberated through instruction,

སྣང་བཞི་མཐའ་རུ་འཁྱོལ་བར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

nang zhi ta ru khyolwar jingyi lob

And I reach the conclusion of the four visions!

སྐྱེ་བ་ཀུན་ཏུ་ཁྱེད་དང་མི་འབྲལ་ཞིང་། །

kyewa küntu khyé dang mindral zhing

In this and all my future lives, may I never be separated from you,

ཏིང་འཛིན་ཡོན་ཏན་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་གཏེར་ལ་དབང་། །

tingdzin yönten gyatsö ter la wang

And, by mastering the treasury of vast, ocean-like samādhis and qualities,

འཇམ་དཔལ་དབྱངས་བཞིན་ནམ་མཁའ་ཇི་སྲིད་དུ། །

jampal yang zhin namkha jisi du

May I remain for as long as space exists, just like Mañjughoṣa,

མ་ལུས་འགྲོ་བའི་དོན་ལ་བརྩོན་གྱུར་ཅིག །

malü drowé dön la tsön gyur chik

To strive for the benefit of all living beings!

ཅེས་སློབ་བུ་དམ་པ་རིག་དོན་གྱི་ངོར་རི་བོ་རྩེ་ལྔའི་ཡང་དབེན་དུ་ངག་དབང་བློ་གྲོས་མཚུངས་མེད་པས་བྲིས་པ་དགེ། །།

Ngawang Lodrö Tsungmé composed this at the request of the virtuous disciple Rigdön in the solitary place of Mount Wutai. May virtue prevail!
