Katok Kubum Prayer

༄༅། །རྒྱལ་སྲས་ཞི་བ་ལྷ་དང་ཀཿཐོག་པ་དམ་གཙང་བྱམས་གསུམ་གྱི་གསོལ་འདེབས།

Prayer to Śāntideva and Dam, Tsang and Jam of Katok

ཚེ་རབས་ཀུན་ཏུ་མགོན་པོ་འཇམ་དཔལ་དབྱངས། །

tserab küntu gönpo jampal yang

Throughout all your lives, you took the protector Mañjughoṣa

རིགས་ཀྱི་བདག་པོར་ཐོབ་ནས་འགྲོ་ཀུན་ལ། །

rik kyi dakpor tob né dro kün la

As the lord of your buddha family, and, for the sake of all,

བྱང་ཆུབ་སྤྱོད་པའི་ལམ་བཟང་གསལ་མཛད་པ། །

changchub chöpé lamzang sal dzepa

Illuminated the excellent path of a bodhisattva’s way of life—

རྒྱལ་སྲས་ཞི་བ་ལྷ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །

gyalsé zhiwa lha la chaktsal lo

To Śāntideva, heir of the victorious ones, I pay homage!

མཉམ་མེད་གཙུག་གི་རྒྱན་གཅིག་ཀཿ་དམ་པ། །

nyammé tsuk gi gyen chik kadampa

Katok Dampa,¹ who was the sole crown-ornament without equal,

ཀུན་ཏུ་འོད་ཀྱི་ས་བརྙེས་གཙང་སྟོན་པ། །

küntu ö kyi sa nyé tsang tönpa

Tsangtönpa,² who reached the level of Universal Illumination,³

ཐམས་ཅད་མཁྱེན་དངོས་དཔལ་ལྡན་བྱམས་པ་འབུམ། །

tamché khyen ngö palden jampa bum

And glorious Jampa Bum,⁴ who was the omniscient one in person—

བསྟན་པའི་འབྱུང་གནས་གསུམ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

tenpé jungné sum la solwa deb

To these three sources of the teachings, I pray!

ཡོངས་རྫོགས་བསྟན་པའི་མངའ་བདག་བསོད་ནམས་འབུམ། །

yongdzok tenpé ngadak sönam bum

Sönam Bum,⁵ who was a sovereign of all the teachings,

བསྐྱེད་རྫོགས་དགོངས་པ་མཐར་ཕྱིན་ཡེ་ཤེས་འབུམ། །

kyedzok gongpa tarchin yeshe bum

Yeshe Bum,⁶ who reached consummate realization of generation and perfection,

གསད་གསོའི་བརྟུལ་ཞུགས་གྲུབ་པ་བྱང་ཆུབ་དཔལ། །

sé sö tulzhuk drubpa changchub pal

And Jangchub Pal,⁷ who mastered the discipline of reviving the dead—

བསྟན་པའི་སྒྲོན་མེ་གསུམ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

tenpé drönmé sum la solwa deb

To these three beacons of the teachings, I pray!

ཞེས་ཀཿཐོག་སྐུ་འབུམ་དུ་བཞུགས་པའི་མཆོད་རྟེན་དྲུང་ནས་ཞབས་བསྐོར་མཛད་ཚེ་དཔལ་སྤྲུལ་རིན་པོ་ཆེས།་གསུངས་པའོ།། །།

Patrul Rinpoche spoke these words while circumambulating the stūpas of Katok Kubum.
