༄༅། །མྱུར་བྱོན་སྨོན་ཚིག

Prayer for the Swift Rebirth of Dodrupchen Rinpoche

by His Holiness the Dalai Lama

གདོད་ནས་རྣམ་དག་འོད་གསལ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་སྐུ། །

döné namdak ösal chö kyi ku

Luminous dharmakāya, pure from the very beginning,

རང་གདངས་འགགས་མེད་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་རྫོགས། །

rang dang gakmé lhündrub longchö dzok

Its ceaseless self-radiance, spontaneous sambhogakāya,

ཐུགས་རྗེའི་རོལ་པ་ཅིར་ཡང་ཤར་བ་ཡི། །

tukjé rolpa chiryang sharwa yi

And compassion’s manifestations in every possible form—

རབ་འབྱམས་སྐྱབས་ཀྱི་ཕུང་པོས་དགེ་ལེགས་སྩོལ། །

rabjam kyabkyi pungpö gelek tsol

Infinite hosts of refuge deities, grant us excellence!

དཀའ་བ་དུ་མས་བསྟན་པའི་གནས་གཞི་བཏབ། །

kawa dumé tenpé né zhi tab

Let this one who painstakingly laid a foundation for the teachings,

ཚེ་འདི་བློས་བཏང་དམ་ཆོས་རྣལ་མ་མཛད། །

tsé di lö tang damchö nalma dzé

Who renounced the concerns of this life, practised genuine Dharma,

དམ་པའི་བཞེད་པ་ཡོངས་སུ་རྫོགས་པ་དང་། །

dampé zhepa yongsu dzokpa dang

And entirely fulfilled the hopes and wishes of sublime masters,

བསྟན་འགྲོའི་དཔལ་གྱུར་སླར་ཡང་མྱུར་བྱོན་ཤོག །

tendrö pal gyur lar yang nyur jön shok

Becoming a splendour of the teachings and beings, swiftly reappear!

ཅེས་པ་འདི་ནི་རྡོ་གྲུབ་སྐུ་ཕྲེང་བཞི་པ་འཇིགས་མེད་ཐུབ་བསྟན་ཕྲིན་ལས་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་ཉེ་ཆར་ཞི་བར་གཤེགས་པར་མྱུར་བྱོན་སྨོན་ཚིག་དགོས་ཞེས་བོད་མི་མང་སྤྱི་འཐུས་ཚོགས་གཙོ་མཁན་པོ་བསོད་ནམས་བསྟན་འཕེལ་དང་། ཤར་སྤྲུལ་དམ་ཆོས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་བཅས་ནས་བསྐུལ་ངོར། ཤཱཀྱའི་དགེ་སྦྱོང་ཆོས་སྨྲ་བ་ཏཱ་ལའི་བླ་མས། རབ་བྱུང་བཅུ་བདུན་པའི་ལྕགས་གླང་ཟླ་ ༡༢ ཚེས་ ༡༦ ཕྱི་ལོ་ ༢༠༢༢ ཟླ་ ༢ ཚེས་ ༡༧ ཉིན་སྦྱར་བའོ། །

Shortly after the Fourth Dodrup incarnation, Jigme Tupten Trinlé Rinpoche, passed into the peace of nirvāṇa, I, the Dalai Lama, a monk-follower of Śākyamuni and teacher of the Dharma, composed this on the sixteenth day of the eleventh month of the Iron Ox year of the seventeenth calendrical cycle (17 February 2022), in response to a request from Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, speaker of the Tibetan parliament-in-exile, and Shartrul Damchö Gyatso.
