༄༅། །ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་རིའི་སྨོན་ལམ། ཡེ་ཤེས་མཚོ་རྒྱལ་གྱིས་མཛད་པའི་སྨོན་ལམ་བཞུགས་སོ། །

A Prayer of Aspiration for the Copper-Coloured Mountain of Glory

ཨེ་མ་ཧོ༔

Emaho!

རྣམ་དག་ཟབ་ལམ་སྟོན་པའི་བླ་མ་དང་༔

namdak zablam tönpé lama dang

Gurus who show me the path pure and profound,

སྒྲུབ་ལ་འདོད་དགུ་སྩོལ་བའི་ཡི་དམ་ལྷ༔

drub la dögu tsolwé yidam lha

Yidam deities who grant me all I can desire for practice,

བར་ཆད་མ་ལུས་སེལ་བའི་མཁའ་འགྲོ་ལ༔

barché malü selwé khandro la

And ḍākinīs who dispel each and every obstacle:

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བརྩེ་བས་གཟུང་དུ་གསོལ༔

solwa deb so tsewé zung du sol

I pray to you, please embrace me with your love!

 

བདག་ནི་འཆི་བར་གྱུར་བའི་དུས་ཀྱི་ཚེ༔

dak ni chiwar gyurwé dü kyi tsé

When my time of death arrives,

ཚེ་འདིར་ཞེན་པའི་སྣང་བ་མི་འབྱུང་ཞིང་༔

tsé dir zhenpé nangwa minjung zhing

Let me not cling onto this life,

ཞིང་ཁམས་གཞན་དུ་འཕོ་བའི་དྲན་འདུན་གྱིས༔

zhingkham zhendu powé dren dün gyi

But, intent on traveling to another realm,

ལུས་སེམས་བྲལ་བའི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མེད་པར་ཤོག༔

lü sem dralwé dukngal mepar shok

May I be free of pain as mind and body part!

 

ཚེ་འདིའི་སྣང་བ་ནུབ་པར་གྱུར་པའི་ཚེ༔

tsé di nangwa nubpar gyurpé tsé

As the appearances of this life fade away,

འཇའ་འོད་གདུང་དང་མེ་ཏོག་ཆར་འབེབས་ཤིང་༔

ja ö dung dang metok charbeb shing

Let there be rainbows, cascading flower, and relics,

དབྱངས་སྙན་གླུ་གར་རོལ་མོའི་ཚོགས་དང་བཅས༔

yang nyen lugar rolmö tsok dangché

And, with voices and instruments melodiously resounding,

དཔའ་བོ་མཁའ་འགྲོས་མདུན་ནས་བསུ་བར་ཤོག༔

pawo khandrö dün né suwar shok

May the ḍākas and ḍākinīs come forth to greet me!

 

དེ་ཚེ་དྲན་པ་མ་ཉམས་བསྐྱེད་རིམ་གསལ༔

detsé drenpa ma nyam kyerim sal

With steady mindfulness may my generation stage become clear,

རྫོགས་རིམ་ཏིང་འཛིན་མི་གཡོ་མངོན་གྱུར་ནས༔

dzokrim tingdzin mi yo ngöngyur né

And may I actualize the completion stage’s unwavering samādhi!

ཟུང་འཇུག་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཆང་གི་སྐུར་བཞེངས་ཏེ༔

zungjuk dorjé chang gi kur zheng té

From their union, may I arise in the form of Vajradhara,

མ་ནོར་ལམ་ལ་བདག་གིས་བགྲོད་པར་ཤོག༔

manor lam la dak gi dröpar shok

And travel upon the unmistaken path!

 

གལ་ཏེ་ལས་ཀྱིས་འཁོར་བར་འཁྱམས་སྲིད་ན༔

galté lé kyi khorwar khyam si na

Yet, if my karma leads me to wander in saṃsāra,

དམྱལ་བའི་ས་ཕྱོགས་ཡིད་འོང་གཞལ་ཡས་ཁང་༔

nyalwé sachok yi ong zhalyé khang

May the lands of hell appear as fine celestial palaces,

དམྱལ་སྲུང་རྣམས་ཀྱང་སྣང་སྟོང་ལྷ་ཡི་སྐུ༔

nyal sung nam kyang nangtong lha yi ku

Hell’s guardians as deities’ empty yet apparent forms,

མནར་མེད་སྡུག་བསྔལ་བདེ་བར་འཆར་བར་ཤོག༔

narmé dukngal dewar charwar shok

And may unbearable suffering be perceived as bliss!

 

རིག་འཛིན་བླ་མ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་མཐའ་ནས་བརྟེན༔

rigdzin lama nam kyi ta né ten

With vidyādhara gurus closing the ranks,

ཡི་དམ་ལྷ་ཚོགས་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་རྒྱབ་བརྟེན་ནས༔

yidam lhatsok nam kyi gyab ten né

And yidam deity hosts backing me up,

ཆོས་སྐྱོང་སྲུང་མ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཕྱི་ནས་སྐྱོང་༔

chökyong sungma nam kyi chi né kyong

May Dharma protectors and guardians escort me

དཔའ་བོ་མཁའ་འགྲོས་མདུན་ནས་བསུ་བར་ཤོག༔

pawo khandrö dün né suwar shok

As ḍākas and ḍākinīs come forth to greet me!

 

ནུབ་ཕྱོགས་ཨོ་རྒྱན་ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་གྱི་རི༔

nubchok orgyen zangdok pal gyi ri

In Uḍḍiyāna’s western Copper-Colored Mountain of Glory,

པདྨ་འོད་ཀྱི་དྲྭ་བའི་གཞལ་ཡས་ཁང་༔

pema ö kyi drawé zhalyé khang

In the Lotus Light Net celestial palace,

རིག་འཛིན་བླ་མ་བཞུགས་པའི་ཞིང་ཁམས་སུ༔

rigdzin lama zhukpé zhingkham su

The pure land where vidyādhara gurus reside,

པདྨའི་སྦུབས་སུ་བརྫུས་ཏེ་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག༔

pemé bub su dzü té kyewar shok

May I miraculously take birth within a lotus flower!

 

སྐྱེ་མ་ཐག་ཏུ་རྒྱལ་སྲས་པདྨ་དང་༔

kyé ma tak tu gyalsé pema dang

As soon as I am born, may I meet face to face

དངོས་སུ་མཇལ་ནས་ཡིན་པར་ངོ་ཤེས་ནས༔

ngö su jal né yinpar ngoshé né

With Padma, heir of victors, and recognize it is him!

བཅོས་མ་མིན་པའི་མོས་གུས་དྲག་པོ་ཡིས༔

chöma minpé mögü drakpo yi

Then, with genuine, fierce devotion,

འབྲལ་མེད་བརྟེན་ཅིང་རྗེས་སུ་འཛིན་པར་ཤོག༔

dralmé ten ching jesu dzinpar shok

May I follow and rely upon him without fail!

 

དེ་ཚེ་རིག་འཛིན་པདྨ་འབྱུང་གནས་དང་༔

detsé rigdzin pema jungné dang

Thus, becoming an heir to vidyādhara Padmasambhava,

སངས་རྒྱས་བྱང་སེམས་རིག་འཛིན་མཁའ་འགྲོའི་ཚོགས༔

sangye changsem rigdzin khandrö tsok

To the buddhas, bodhisattvas, all vidyādharas,

རྒྱལ་བ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་སྲས་སུ་བདག་གྱུར་ནས༔

gyalwa nam kyi sé su dak gyur né

The hosts of ḍākinīs and all victors,

མི་ནུབ་བསྟན་པའི་རྒྱལ་མཚན་འཛིན་པར་ཤོག༔

mi nub tenpé gyaltsen dzinpar shok

May I uphold the teachings’ unfaltering banner!

 

ཁམས་གསུམ་འཁོར་བའི་སེམས་ཅན་མ་ལུས་པ༔

kham sum khorwé semchen malüpa

Swiftly liberating all beings of the three realms

འཁོར་བའི་རྒྱ་མཚོ་ཆེ་ལས་མྱུར་བསྒྲལ་ནས༔

khorwé gyatso ché lé nyur dral né

From the vast ocean of saṃsāra,

རྣམ་གྲོལ་ཐར་པའི་གླིང་དུ་འཁྲིད་ནུས་པའི༔

namdrol tarpé ling du tri nüpé

May I become an omniscient guide to beings,

དེད་དཔོན་ཐམས་ཅད་མཁྱེན་པར་བདག་གྱུར་ཅིག༔

depön tamché khyenpar dak gyur chik

Capable of leading them all to the land of liberation!

 

བླ་མེད་དཀོན་མཆོག་གསུམ་གྱི་བྱིན་རླབས་དང་༔

lamé könchok sum gyi jinlab dang

By the blessings of the utmost Three Jewels,

ཡི་དམ་ལྷ་ཚོགས་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ནུས་མཐུ་དང་༔

yidam lhatsok nam kyi nütu dang

The power of hosts of yidam deities,

བདག་གི་ལྷག་བསམ་དག་པའི་མཐུ་སྟོབས་ཀྱིས༔

dak gi lhaksam dakpé tutob kyi

And the force of my pure altruistic wish,

ཇི་ལྟར་སྨོན་པའི་གནས་འདིར་འགྲུབ་པར་ཤོག༔

jitar mönpé né dir drubpar shok

May my prayers be fulfilled in this very way!

 

ཅེས་མཆིམས་ཕུ་ནགས་ཀྱི་དུར་ཁྲོད་དུ་མཁའ་འགྲོ་མ༔ ཡེ་ཤེས་མཚོ་རྒྱལ་གྱིས་མཛད་པའི་སྨོན་ལམ་རྫོགས་སོ།། །།

Here ends the prayer composed by Khandro Yeshe Tsogyal in the forest charnel ground of Chimphu.
