The Supreme Bestowal of Wisdom

The Ripening Empowerment for the Innermost Secret Guru Practice, the Sealed Quintessence (Tiklé Gyachen)

ན་མོ་གུ་ར་བེ།

Namo gurave!

དྲི༷་མེ༷ད་ཀ་དག་ཆོས་ཀྱི་སྐུ། །
མཁྱེན་བརྩེའི་འོ༷ད་ཟེར༷་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་རྫོགས། །
གང་འདུལ་སྤྲུལ་པའི་རྣམ་རོལ་ཅན། །
ཕྱག་འཚལ་རིག་འཛིན་བླ་མ་ལའོ། །

Stainless primordial purity is the dharmakāya;
Light Rays¹ of Wisdom and Love is the saṃbhogakāya;
And the play of the nirmāṇakāya tames beings as required—
To you, vidyādhara guru, I pay homage!

གང་དེའི་རྡོ་རྗེའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་དང་། །
རྗེས་སུ་འབྲེལ་བའི་སྨིན་བྱེད་ཀྱི། །
རྣམ་གྲོལ་ཡེ་ཤེས་མཆོག་སྦྱིན་པ། །
སྐལ་བཟང་སློབ་མའི་དོན་དུ་དབྱེ། །

The practice of your vajra yoga
And the maturing empowerment connected with it
Is contained here in this liberating Bestower of Supreme Wisdom.
Here, for the benefit of fortunate disciples, I shall explain it.

དེ་ཡང་དབེན་ཞིང་ཉམས་དགའི་གནས། །
བྱིན་རླབས་བཀྲ་ཤིས་འབྱུང་བའི་སར། །
མཁའ་འགྲོ་འདུ་བའི་དུས་ཀྱི་ཚེ། །
དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་དམར་ཟླུམ་བཀོད་ལེགས་སྟེང་། །
ཕྱི་ནང་གསང་བའི་དབང་རྫས་དང་། །
ཚོགས་ཀྱི་མཆོད་གཏོར་བཟང་དུ་བཤམ། །

In an isolated, pleasant place,
Blessed and auspicious,
At a time when the ḍākinīs gather, do as follows.
Neatly arrange a red, round maṇḍala.
Upon it, place the outer, inner and secret empowerment substances,
And an excellent offering torma for the feast.

བསྙེན་རྫོགས་རྟོགས་ལྡན་རྣལ་འབྱོར་པས། །
བདག་མདུན་དབྱེར་མེད་བསྐྱེད་བཟླས་དང་། །
རིག་པའི་མེ་ཏོག་དོར་བ་ཡིས། །
ཡེ་ཤེས་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་འཇུག་པའི་རྗེས། །

A realized practitioner who has perfected the generation and completion stages
Generates the maṇḍala, with self- and front-visualizations indivisible, does the recitation,
Throws the flower of awareness
And thus enters the wisdom maṇḍala.

དད་ལྡན་དམ་ཚིག་སྲུང་ནུས་པའི། །
སློབ་མ་ཁྲུས་བྱས་གྲལ་ལ་འཁོད། །
བགེགས་བྲལ་སྲུང་བའི་འཁོར་ལོ་བསྒོམ། །
ལོ་རྒྱུས་མཚམས་སྦྱར་མཎྜལ་འབུལ། །

Then the students, faithful and capable of upholding the samayas,
Are cleansed and made to take their seats.
With obstructing forces expelled, meditate on the protective circle,
And relate the history. Then the students offer a maṇḍala.

དེ་ནས་གསོལ་བ་གདབ་པ་ནི། །

The Request

སངས་རྒྱས་ཀུན་གྱི་ཡེ་ཤེས་སྐུ། །

sangye kün gyi yeshe ku

Vajra master, wisdom body of all the buddhas—

རྡོ་རྗེའི་སློབ་དཔོན་བདག་ལ་དགོངས། །

dorjé lobpön dak la gong

Please turn your attention towards us!

རིག་འཛིན་བླ་མའི་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་དུ། །

rigdzin lamé kyilkhor du

Please bestow the kindness of granting us entry

འཇུག་ཅིང་སྨིན་པའི་བཀའ་དྲིན་སྩོལ། །

juk ching minpé kadrin tsol

To the maṇḍala of the vidyādhara guru and maturing us!

ལན་གསུམ་སྐྱབས་སེམས་སྡོམ་གསུམ་སྦྱིན། །
ཡེ་ཤེས་དབབ་ཅིང་གཉིས་མེད་བསྟིམ། །
དེ་ནས་བུམ་པ་སྤྱི་བོར་བསྐུར།

Repeat three times; grant refuge and bodhicitta vows by reciting each three times.
Invoke the wisdom deities and dissolve them indivisibly.
Then place the vase on the student’s heads.

ཧྲཱིཿ ཀ་དག་གཞོན་ནུ་བུམ་སྐུའི་གྲོང་ཁྱེར་དུ། །

hrih, kadak zhönnu bumkü drongkhyer du

Hrīḥ. In the city of the primordially pure, youthful vase body

ལྷུན་གྲུབ་སྣང་སྟོང་བླ་མའི་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ཤར།

lhündrub nangtong lamé kyilkhor shar

The spontaneously present guru-maṇḍala of appearance and emptiness arises.

ཟུང་འཇུག་བདུད་རྩིའི་རྒྱུན་གྱིས་དབང་བསྐུར་བས། །

zungjuk dütsi gyün gyi wangkurwé

By granting this empowerment with the flow of the nectar of union,

ཕུང་ཁམས་སྐྱེ་མཆེད་ལྷ་སྐུར་དག་པར་ཤོག །

pung kham kyemché lha kur dakpar shok

May your aggregates, elements and sense-sources be purified as the kāya of the deities!

རྩ་སྔགས་དང་།

Recite the root mantra joined with:

ནཱིརྨ་ཀཱ་ཡ་ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩ་ཨོཾ།

nirmakaya abhikintsa om

nirmā-kāyābhiṣiñca oṃ

རྗེས་འབྲེལ་བསྐྱེད་པའི་རིམ་པ་དང་། །
བཞུགས་སྟངས་རྣམ་པ་གསུམ་ལ་བསླབ། །
བླ་མའི་སྣང་བརྙན་སྤྱི་བོར་གཞག །

Train in the generation phase connected with this
And the three postures.
Place an image of the guru on the students’ heads.

ཨོཾ། རིག་གདངས་ཆོས་ཉིད་མངོན་སུམ་གཞལ་ཡས་སུ། །

om, rikdang chönyi ngönsum zhalyé su

Oṃ. Within the palace, the direct perception of the dharmatā's radiance of awareness,

ཉམས་སྣང་གོང་འཕེལ་འཇའ་ཟེར་ཐིག་ལེའི་ཀློང་། །

nyam nang gongpel jazer tiklé long

In the expanse of the sphere of rainbow light, the increase of visionary experience,

རིག་པ་ཚད་ཕེབས་དོན་གྱི་བླ་མའི་སྐུས། །

rigpa tsepeb dön gyi lamé kü

Is the ultimate guru of the full measure of awareness,

ཆོས་ཟད་བློ་འདས་ཆེན་པོར་དབང་བསྐུར་རོ། །

chö zé lodé chenpor wangkur ro

Whose kāya grants empowerment within the great exhaustion of phenomenal reality, beyond the mind.

བཛྲ་ཀཱ་ཡ་ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩཱ་མི།

benza kaya abhishintsa mi

vajra-kāyābhiṣiñcāmi

མྱོང་གྲོལ་བདུད་རྩི་མགྲིན་པར་སྦྱིན། །

Touch the nectar that liberates on taste to the students’ throats.

ཧྲཱིཿ ཕྱི་སྣོད་རྩ་གསུམ་འཁོར་ལོའི་བྷནྡྷ་རུ། །

hrih, chinö tsa sum khorlö bhenda ru

Hrīḥ. In the outer vessel, the bhanda of the cakras of the Three Roots,

ནང་བཅུད་བདེ་ཆེན་བྱང་སེམས་བདུད་རྩིར་བསྐྱིལ། །

nangchü dechen changsem dütsir kyil

The inner contents of the bodhicitta nectar of great bliss is gathered.

དེང་འདིར་སྐལ་ལྡན་ཁྱོད་ལ་སྦྱིན་པ་ཡིས། །

dengdir kalden khyö la jinpa yi

By giving it to you, fortunate ones, here and now,

སྲོག་རྩོལ་དབུ་མའི་དབྱིངས་སུ་རྫོགས་པར་ཤོག །

sol tsol umé ying su dzokpar shok

May the practice of prāṇāyāma be perfected within the space of the central channel!

སཾ་བྷོ་ཀཱ་ཡ་ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩ་ཨཱཿ

sambho kaya abhikintsa ah

saṃbho-kāyābhiṣiñca āḥ

རྗེས་འབྲེལ་གཟིགས་སྟངས་རྣམ་གསུམ་དང་། །
རླུང་གི་གནད་ལ་བསླབས་པའི་རྗེས། །
ཐུན་མོང་བཟླས་པའི་ལུང་སྦྱིན་ཞིང་། །
ཁྱད་པར་རིག་འཛིན་སྲོག་འཁོར་ནི། །
ཚར་གཅིག་བཀླགས་ལ་སྤྱི་བོར་གཞག །

Connected with this, train in the crucial points
Of the three types of gaze and the breath.
Then grant the transmission of the common mantra recitation.
In particular, recite the life-force cakra of the vidyādharas once
And place it on their heads.

ཨཱཿ སྲས་བཅས་རྒྱལ་བ་ཀུན་གྱི་རྡོ་རྗེའི་གསུང་། །

ah, sé ché gyalwa kün gyi dorjé sung

Āḥ. The enlightened vajra speech of all the victorious ones and their heirs

ཡི་གེའི་འཁོར་ལོར་ཤར་བའི་དབང་བསྐུར་བས། །

yigé khorlor sharwé wangkurwé

Arises as the wheel of syllables—by granting this empowerment,

ལས་རླུང་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཁམས་སུ་རྣམ་དག་པའི། །

lé lung yeshe kham su namdakpé

May the karmic winds be purified into the element of wisdom

ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་སྲིད་མཆོག་ལ་དབང་བསྒྱུར་ཤོག །

chö kyi gyalsi chok la wanggyur shok

And may you be empowered into the supreme kingdom of Dharma!

བཛྲ་ཝཱ་ཀ་ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩ་མི།

benza waka abhikintsa mi

vajra-vākābhiṣiñcāmi

ཤེས་རབ་གཟུངས་མ་བྱིན་བརླབས་སྦྱིན།

Grant the blessings of the wisdom consort:

ཧྲཱིཿ བཅུ་དྲུག་དགའ་བ་སྟེར་བའི་ཕོ་ཉ་མོ། །

hrih, chudruk gawa terwé ponyamo

Hrīḥ. The female messenger who grants the sixteen joys,

ཡིད་འོང་སྣ་ཚོགས་གཟུགས་ཅན་འདི་གཏད་ཅིང་། །

yi ong natsok zukchen di té ching

Captivating in varied forms, is entrusted to you.

ལྷན་སྐྱེས་ཐར་པ་བསྟེན་པའི་དབང་བསྐུར་བས། །

lhenkyé tarpa tenpé wangkurwé

By granting this empowerment, where liberation is achieved based on innate joy,

རྟོག་ཚོགས་བདེ་སྟོང་ཆེན་པོར་སྨིན་པར་ཤོག །

toktsok detong chenpor minpar shok

May the hosts of thoughts mature into great bliss-emptiness.

དྷརྨ་ཀཱ་ཡ་ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩཱ་ཧཱུྃ།

dharma kaya abhishintsa hung

dharma-kāyābhiṣiñca hūṃ

རྡོར་སེམས་ཡབ་ཡུམ་ང་རྒྱལ་གྱིས། །
སྙོམས་འཇུག་བདེ་ཆེན་ཡེ་ཤེས་བསྐྱེད། །
རྗེས་འབྲེལ་བདེ་སྟོང་དོན་ངོ་སྤྲོད། །
ཌ་མ་རུ་དང་ཁ་ཊྭཱྃ་སོགས། །
བརྟུལ་ཞུགས་སྤྱོད་པའི་ཡོ་བྱད་སྦྱིན། །

With the confidence of being Vajrasattva in union with consort,
Generate the wisdom of the great bliss of union.
Connected with this, grant the introduction to the meaning of bliss-emptiness
And the articles of yogic conduct,
Such as the ḍāmaru and khaṭvāṅga.

ཧཱུྃ། ཕྱི་དང་ནང་གི་གནས་ཡུལ་དུར་ཁྲོད་ཀུན། །

hung, chi dang nang gi neyul durtrö kün

Hūṃ. In order to traverse all outer and inner sacred lands and charnel grounds

རྡོ་རྗེའི་བརྟུལ་ཞུགས་གཅིག་གིས་བགྲོད་པའི་སླད། །

dorjé tulzhuk chik gi dröpé lé

Solely with the yogic conduct of the vajra,

དཔའ་བོ་ཌཱ་ཀིའི་ཕྱག་རྒྱས་དབང་བསྐུར་བས། །

pawo daki chakgyé wangkurwé

This empowerment is granted with the mudrā of heroes and ḍākinīs—

ཉེ་རྒྱུའི་སྤྱོད་པའི་འབྲས་བུ་མཐར་ཕྱིན་ཤོག །

nyé gyü chöpé drebu tarchin shok

May you bring intimate conduct to fruition!

བཛྲ་ཙིཏྟ་ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩཱ་མི།

benza tsitta abhishintsa mi

vajra cittābhiṣiñcāmi

རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའི་མེ་ལོང་བསྟན།

Show the mirror of Vajrasattva.

ཧྲཱིཿ གཞི་དབྱིངས་ཀ་དག་གཉུག་མའི་དྭངས་ཤེལ་ལས། །

hrih, zhi ying kadak nyukmé dang shel lé

Hrīḥ. From the ground’s basic space, the pure crystal of innate primordial purity,

གཞི་སྣང་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་རིག་པའི་འཇའ་ཟེར་ཤར། །

zhi nang lhündrub rigpé jazer shar

Arises the ground’s appearance, rainbow lights of spontaneously present awareness.

ཟུང་འཇུག་དཔེ་དོན་འབྲེལ་བའི་དབང་བསྐུར་བས། །

zungjuk pé dön drelwé wangkurwé

By granting this empowerment of union, in which example and meaning coincide,

སྐུ་དང་ཡེ་ཤེས་དབྱེར་མེད་མངོན་གྱུར་ཤོག །

ku dang yeshe yermé ngöngyur shok

May you actualize the indivisibility of the kāyas and wisdoms!

ཛྙཱ་ན་ཀཱ་ཡ་ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩ་ཧྲཱིཿ

jnana kaya abhikintsa hrih

jñāna-kayābhiṣiñca hūṃ hrīḥ

རྗེས་འབྲེལ་གཉིས་ཀས་མཉམ་གཞག་ངང་། །
ཨ་ཞེས་དགོངས་པའི་དྲོད་གཏད་ཅིང་། །
ཕཊ་ཀྱིས་རིག་རྩལ་གོང་དུ་སྤར། །
ཟབ་མོའི་ལྟ་སྒོམ་སྤྱོད་འབྲས་དང་། །
སྣང་བཞིའི་འཆར་ཚུལ་ངོ་སྤྲད་ཅིང་། །
སྙིང་ཏིག་གླེགས་བམ་སྤྱི་བོར་གཞག །

Connected with this, both master and student rest in meditative equipoise.
With the syllable a the warmth of realization is transmitted.
With the syllable phaṭ the radiance of awareness blazes stronger and stronger.
Grant the introduction to the view, meditation and conduct of the profound
And the manner in which the four visions arise.
Place a volume of the Heart-Essence on the students’ heads.

ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ།

om ah hung,

oṃ āḥ hūṃ.

ཀུན་བཟང་རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའ་དགའ་རབ་རྗེ། །

kunzang dorjé sempa garab jé

Samantabhadra, Vajrasattva, Garab Dorje,

འཇམ་དཔལ་བཤེས་གཉེན་ཤྲཱི་སིཾ་ཧ་དང་། །

jampal shenyen shiri singha dang

Mañjuśrīmitra, Śrī Siṃha,

ཛྙཱ་ན་སཱུ་ཏྲ་འཆི་མེད་པདྨ་འབྱུང་། །

jnanasutra chimé pema jung

Jñānasūtra, the immortal Padmākara,

འོད་གསལ་སྙིང་པོའི་ཤིང་རྟ་བི་མ་ལ། །

ösal nyingpö shingta bimala

Vimalamitra, pioneer of the luminous heart-essence,

དབྱེར་མེད་ཀུན་མཁྱེན་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཡི། །

yermé künkhyen chökyi gyalpo yi

And, inseparable from him, the Omniscient King of Dharma—

སྐུ་གསུང་ཐུགས་དང་ཡོན་ཏན་ཕྲིན་ལས་ཀྱིས། །

ku sung tuk dang yönten trinlé kyi

Here and now, you fortunate ones are blessed

དེང་འདིར་སྐལ་ལྡན་ཁྱོད་ལ་བྱིན་བརླབས་པས། །

dengdir kalden khyö la jinlab pé

With their enlightened body, speech, mind, qualities and activities.

ཅིར་སྣང་སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་དྲྭ་བའི་འཁོར་ལོར་ཤར། །

chir nang gyutrul drawé khorlor shar

May all that appears arise as the wheel of the Illusory Net,

སྒྲར་གྲགས་མི་ཤིགས་རྡོ་རྗེའི་དབྱངས་སུ་སྨིན། །

drar drak mishik dorjé yang su min

All sounds ripen as the indestructible vajra melodies,

ཀ་དག་རིག་པ་གདོད་མའི་གནས་ལུགས་རྟོགས། །

kadak rigpa dömé neluk tok

And may you realize the primordially pure awareness of your fundamental nature.

ལྷུན་གྲུབ་སྣང་བ་རྣམ་བཞིའི་རྩལ་རྫོགས་ནས། །

lhündrub nangwa nam zhi tsal dzok né

Having perfected the radiance of the four spontaneously present visions,

ཚེ་གཅིག་འཇའ་ལུས་རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྲོག་འགྲུབ་ཤོག །

tsé chik jalü dorjé sok drub shok

May you, in a single lifetime, accomplish the vajra life of the rainbow body!

བཛྲ་ཀཱ་ཡ་ཝཱ་ཀ་ཙིཏྟ་གུ་ཎ་ཀརྨ་སརྦ་སིདྡྷི་ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩཱ་མི།

benza kaya waka tsitta guna karma sarva siddhi abhishintsa mi

kāya vāka citta guṇa karma sarva-siddhi-abhiṣiñca hoḥ

རྗེས་སུ་ཤིས་བརྗོད་མེ་ཏོག་འཐོར། །
དམ་ཚིག་ཁས་བླང་གཏང་རག་དབུལ། །
དགའ་སྟོན་ཚོགས་ཀྱི་འཁོར་ལོ་དང་། །
རྡོ་རྗེའི་གླུ་དང་གར་ལ་རོལ། །

To conclude, recite prayers of auspiciousness and toss flowers.
[The students] promise to uphold the samayas and present thanksgiving offerings.
Then present a gaṇacakra feast
And engage in vajra song and dance.

དེ་ལྟར་རིགས་རྣམས་ཀུན་འདུས་པ། །
ཡང་གསང་བླ་མའི་སྒྲུབ་པ་ནི། །
འོད་གསལ་ཐིག་ལེའི་རྒྱ་ཅན་གྱི། །
སྨིན་བྱེད་ཡེ་ཤེས་མཆོག་སྦྱིན་འདི། །
གངས་རི་ཐོད་དཀར་ཨོ་རྒྱན་རྫོང་། །
འོད་ཟེར་སྤྲིན་གྱི་སྐྱེད་ཚལ་དུ། །
གཏད་མེད་ཀུན་ཏུ་རྒྱུ་བ་ཡི། །
རྣལ་འབྱོར་འཇིགས་པ་མེད་པས་སྦྱར། །

I, Jikpa Mepa,
A fearless yogin who wanders without aim,
Wrote this text, Supreme Bestowal of Wisdom,
The Ripening Empowerment for the Luminous Sealed Quintessence,
The Innermost Secret Guru Practice,
Which gathers all the enlightened families,
In the Clouds of Light Rays Grove,
Orgyen Dzong at Gangri Thökar.

དགེ་བས་སྐལ་བཟང་སློབ་མ་རྣམས། །
ཀུན་མཁྱེན་བླ་མའི་ཡེ་ཤེས་སྐུས། །
མངོན་སུམ་ཉིད་དུ་རྗེས་བཟུང་ནས། །
གདོད་མའི་གཞི་དབྱིངས་གྲོལ་གྱུར་ཅིག །

Through this merit, may all fortunate disciples
Be taken care of in actuality
By the wisdom body of the Omniscient Guru,
And be liberated within the primordial space of the ground!

ས་མ་ཡ༔ གུ་ཧྱཿ །
